That says Druma'tix' not 'trix' btw, and I think the new name may be 'Drum Matrix', I saw it written like that on a couple of sites....unless it was a typo...WOK wrote:Eehhm - did you saw this one:DaveClark wrote:The complaint about Drumatrix --- the title of the book anyway --- appears to be completely baseless to me, but I'm a technical guy.

And Roland is known not to be too friendly about using their names/designs for plugins.
(but that did not keep this guy away)

Haha!thoshu wrote:C'mon guys, sell it.. right now. The beta seems to be stable, and there can be fixes afterwards.
Native Instruments sold their half-stable alpha-versions all the time before they turned the innovative-software-company into a sample-content-supplier.
+1
Come on - it's almost the weekend!

All the features need to be there first if not we can't make any fundamental changes to it anymore (like changing it to 2 banks of 8 pads for the 4x4 machines).thoshu wrote:C'mon guys, sell it.. right now. The beta seems to be stable, and there can be fixes afterwards.
I hope we'll have a new beta (or R/C) by Sunday night (when the previous one expires).

Nothing's decided for certain but the idea is to put it at $99 withaudington wrote:To save me reading 17 pages - is there any word on price for this?
a one month 'pay what you think it's worth' with a minimum of €9
(of which we give €1 to a charity in Haiti).
We did this for Harmless and this worked out pretty nicely.

What's crazy is that this 'open library' thing seems to have picked up the screenshot of Drumatrix automatically

The newest Beta should be on the FL Studio site. They are supposed to post the newest today, or soon.oredon wrote:Getting Failed to Load messages in both Live and Logic. Was this a time-limited beta? Is there an updated file up yet?

WOK,
Thanks for the Roland reference.
However, as I explicitly stated, I was referring to this, the original comment about and link to what was claimed to be the actual complaint (not Roland):

Everyone knows Roland's positions on IP. And everyone should know that new trademarks cannot be similar to existing registered ones in the same markets. The reason I suggested a repeat of the trademark search is for this very reason. It's difficult to think up all the various possible similarities, especially translations into foreign languages and other fruits, etc. (referring to the decision that "Pineapple" is too similar to "Apple").JMC wrote: Since we received a complaint about the name we might change it to Drumaxx but if anyone has suggestions just shoot.
