Isn't that exactly what you were doing?
Well i don't know if that was what spaceman was doing or not, but i do know that you've been known to employ that tactic on occasion...

What's circular about it? Please let me know as soon as you do. :D
I think you're losing track of the thread. I didn't talk about circular arguments to you.
I probably am. Don't mind me, it may seem like I'm on KvR constantly but I extracted two molars in the meantime while we were talking/posting so losing track is totally feasible.

Returning to the original topic of this thread, does anyone know:

1. If there is a way to connect a midi keyboard to the iPad? Maybe a wireless midi arrangement using the WiFi port?

2. If the programming language lets you do enough to create a complex instrument? Has anyone bought the sdk and examined just what can be done? I've seen sweet looking iPhone apps that let you strum a guitar to play samples or play drums. But can you build a full-blown multisampler, assigning samples to keys and velocity breakpoints? Is it a full-blown programming language?

3. Just how you program--Is it a high level language, with graphics, or are you doing C++ type of coding? What's the programming environment?

(I'm more interested in all of this than in using it as a controller for a program on another computer. For $500, I would want it to do a lot more than give me nice sliders to control Cubase...)

Anyway, iPad schmiPad. I'll be waiting for this.

I completely echo your sentiments, especially with regard to having this thing become a nice synth/sampler/sound module.

You should read this thread, it's a good one. Also, type in iPhone and MIDI in your search engine and have a read.

Well, I found the Apple site about developing. Lots of reading there. A big disappointment is that you can only develop programs by using a Mac. Only to be expected, I guess.

spaceman wrote:No, I wasn't. But you can try your usual circular arguments hoping that people will lose track after enough turns and think you were right.
Nah, you seem to be doing that well enough for yourself. well that and the inanely hyperbolic, strangely vitriolic exaggeration of every other post of yours.

did someone offend your inner fanboi or something?
But if you can give me an example of how I changed the subject to fit my argument, feel free to document it.
