KK would it be better to have the redirct path at the top of the gui in the dead space rather then squeeze it in at the bottom? Not trying to tell you what to do based on my gui, it a suggestion based on all of them. I made an example of have each would look like on my gui to compare. I do whatever is you want.

Fair enough if not, but I haven't read a single comment so I was just wondering if it was overlooked?

I really like this one.SciFiArtMan wrote:Here's a quick monochromatic core logo. Have to run right now, but I'll add some effects (fills, bevels, chroming, etc.) later this evening if there's any interest. The basic beauty here is it will work in any format of background as it is - but fancy EFX can make it "sparkle" more!

It may not have the fancy effects and stuff like some of the others, but it definitely has a distinct "branding" about it.
Also, I think that this sauli/Hlis93 collab is a definite contender.sauli wrote:
Quick example of how it would look like in the synth.
Hope you don't mind Hlis93. Just thought your skin is the best one at the moment

Hlis,
Great idea and easy to implement. The path redirect is very moveable.

electric idea borrowed from system20 (but not as 'delicate'),
so I guess this won't count as an entry. Anyway, cheesy as h*ll

Thanks Ben! It's good to get at least one comment, just for the effort, you know!ben_horwood wrote:I really like this one.SciFiArtMan wrote:Here's a quick monochromatic core logo. Yes, I'm afraid if you don't come out with all effects blasting you get passed right by!

I thought I had commented. Sorry if I didn't. It is a very good design and well thought-out. It certainly is in the running.SciFiArtMan wrote:Thanks Ben! Yes, I'm afraid if you don't come out with all effects blasting you get passed right by!No biggie. The idea was to be clean and distinctive (like my fave skin), and formatted to work easily in any size and format, including a transparent background. Maybe the star effect was too simple in execution - maybe I've been doing corporate crap too long, who knows. I did work up a few more with various fills and flash effects (which is the easy part with the right PS filters installed!), and even one with a lightning ball emanating from the O, but as no interest was shown I'll keep those in the design vault for future ref!
Only a few minutes ventured, and I did have fun! I've wasted more time watching a bad movie! Thanks again for the kind words!

Sorry if I gave the impression of cheesiness.
I don't like cheese either, but I do like a bit of flash for a product GUI (just me).
That said, the winning entry will be the one that sits best in the GUI itself, TBH (which I will do and then sit back and judge). It has to look really great and be very readable. In essence, it needs to scream SUPERCORE.
However, I will also take into consideration what all of you think as well, so the more replies I see for a particular design, the more I will give it weight in my final decision.
Not changing any rules here. Just informing you guys how I will eventually judge all the designs.

Thanks for the suggestion but that on one thing I'm going to keep it, the shadow is going to stay becasue I like it. When the gui is viewed as a whole I think it belongs there.cosmosis wrote:
Haven't seem all the entries, but this caught my eye, both the whole design and the logo. I would get rid of the shadows under the layer titles though.
I don't know how KK is going to want the logo done for the gui after he chooses what the winner, but feel that should make it clear as people are seeing this late in the thread that image example is entry for the logo comp by sauli, it has nothing to do with my gui they are seperate things. I dont have a problem with it being demo'd on my gui I just want to be sure late commer to the thread understand they are differnt things

I like this one best because it's been designed, rather than had ten different effects thrown at it. It'll also be easier to use and more adaptable from a marketing perspective.SciFiArtMan wrote:Here's a quick monochromatic core logo. Hope the link works, never ULed a pic here before!

However, I suspect that Mike will by seduced by shapes and colours...

The shapes and color will work for adverts but manuals and etc they will not work so well. Perhaps post a plain and fully loaded version? I know nothing about logo design so please ignore my suggestion if it is not relavent.

They are a couple united in marriage as far as I am concerned! I'm referring to the designs, not the designers!Hlis93 wrote:. . . feel that should make it clear as people are seeing this late in the thread that image example is entry for the logo comp by sauli, it has nothing to do with my gui they are seperate things.
