Hiya,.... Encouraged by the superb prizes donated to the One-Synth-Challenge xmas comp following an appeal, I thought I could do worse than try my luck again

I will be launching the twelfth One-Synth-Challenge in about 3 days time, and I am hoping some kind souls will be able to donate towards our pool of winners/runners up prizes.

Each comp is already supported by donations from MaxSynths and Rob_lee, and we occasionally recieve one off donations from other developers.
I always manage to build some sort of quirky plugin for all participants to show appreciation of the time and effort they put in to make the OSCs work.

Dont get me wrong, the participants do the comp out of a sense of adventure, curiosity and fun ... as well as the learning experience and the help the whole process offers to developers of the featured synths.

I just think they have also contributed to a community within KVR which has a really good vibe about it, and that the quality of the work they produce is worthy of reward ....

So, I hope you enjoy the tracks we continue to turn out, often in the face of adversity .... and hope you can have a think about whether you have something lying around which someone might appreciate and deserve for their efforts

Our thoughts are turning towards entering voters (other than those participating in the comp) into a prize draw ... to encourage more voters of course .... so if anyone wants to donate a prize specifically for this, then that would be cool! ... and if you vote, you might win it back!

You fight a difficult battle indeed! I wish you luck, and wish I could do more.

I also look forward to this contest - it's the first I've heard of it, and it sounds pretty neat.

Thanks MOK19, as you may have gathered, we are discussing how we raise the profile of the comp .. and a plea to the mods is on the cards. It has been a great source of enjoyment and education over its 10 month lifespan, so I hope now that you've found us you will maintain at least a casual interest, and maybe have a go at submitting something

Moving its profile upwards is a bit of a thought though, in that there's a really good vibe going on the way it is, but it would be nice to attract more support ... as in prize donations, votes and submissions.

Developers of featured synths, and regular/sporadic sponsors would get more kudos in return if the comp was more prominent for sure. But, time will tell.

We are just finishing up collecting tracks for the current comp featuring 'Rogue' .... and the standard of entries is superb! ... check for yourself ...

Thanks to Rob-lee, Maxsynths, and Karmacomposer for their superb donations to the current comp, previous comps and comps to come!

OSC 13 will be launched in 2 or 3 days time ... and will feature Synth1.

This will be our anniversary challenge ... the voting period will coincide with the date of the first post ( by he who shall not be named ) which launched this series of competitions.

I hope some of you guys out there will consider adding a little something to the pool of prizes on offer to reward the time, effort, and creative energy the track writers give to this comp ... not to mention the quality!

The above link, is the equivalent of a free album ... and every comp amounts to the same ... so, have a think about what its worth to have a highly original free one-synth album created every month, and see if you can give the guys something in return!
