Any plug-in or host could become "abandonware" at any time. Look what happened to Kjaerhus recently.

And don't get me started about Gigastudio.

Wouldn't abandonware (or orphanware) be overstating this, though? I mean, Torben hasn't actually closed up shop and gone out of business...although it might almost feel that way.

Sad to hear that about Kj. Anyway I've never had a problem with glaceverb in FL studio 9 and below, renamed instances or not. It's a great freebie and hard to beat, price vs quality.

True. I generally only use it for FX reverbs because of its unique modulation controls and potential for unusual sound design, but after this thread I booted it up to check out its standard reverb sounds and they're better than I remember. Tails are a bit wobbly even in the best presets, but overall a better sound than most free reverbs in my opinion. And absent of that horrible ringy freeverb sound that most freebies have.

I'm re-recording some songs I recorded back in the day and there are many instances of glaceverb usage that I am extremely happy with (especially piano) and I would like to achieve similar results. Right now, there is no problem using Glaceverb except my host (Tracktion 6) won't bridge 32-to-64-bit so I have to (I guess) render/freeze all the tracks using 64-bit plugins and start T6 in 32-bit mode to use Glaceverb. That I find inconvenient, although I will do it if I have to.

I'm interested in replicating the Piano-ENSEMBLE PADDER patch and the Wide Warm Echos patch, for instance. I don't know much about reverb and have rarely used anything other than a few freebies. I am willing to pay for a solid reverb that can work on many different channels (vocals, keys, etc.). And something with presets make me feel much more comfortable by providing a place to start.

So, if you know any good alternatives, please let me know.
