The last time he did this, he found himself without a job (Im sure there's a funny pun in there somewhere but Im just waking up still). Problem with Steve Job's is - his ego isnt big enough to fit inside a normal 30 story sky skraper, they have to add in additional 20 floors just to contain it.

No doubt in the next year or so he will try to throw his weight around more and more in the industry, demanding this that and the other thing from other companies, telling them how they are all stupid, and battling with "stupid" consumers etc....and then Apple will go down in a specatular ball of flames.. once again, and need to be re-built....

All I want is to able to browse the current 2010 internet as is, without finding pages don't load properly because a hardware manufacturer has deliberately censored them due to some turf war. I actually think that the position Steve Jobs is taking is pathetic.
This is truly the bottom line. The user experience is the reason any Internet device exists. Not supporting a standard because there are security issues ignores the existence of security issues in every standard. Just one more reason to not purchase this product.

You may be missing something fundamental about business.
It's true. Out here in California we don't have lorries. We barely have any good public transportation. We love to drive cars.

I actually said content developers, not Flash developers, for a reason. Whether you like it or not, (or just want to brush it all off as porn) Flash is a mechanism for content delivery (eg Flash video) as well as content type itself.
Well, safari supports h264 and aac though the <video> and <audio> tags, so flash isn't that vital anymore. Rich web applications can be handled with stuff like ajax or rails.

To say Flash isnt vital is the only thing you can say when the ipad wont support it. HTML 5 wont even be finalised until 2012, until then there are existing web structures which are used throughout. Maybe we should exclude right now other useless items like IP v4, PDF or everything else Apple cant control. You can bet your bottom dollar that when HTML 5 does arrive, implementation wont be fully compliant across all devices (some will say it will be too slow, too big, too buggy etc) and it will still be a mess.

An other Lemur/IPad message:

I've read many things about iPad and TouchOSC but not about IPad/Automap (maybe i missed it).
I played yesterday night with Automap for IPod/Iphone. It works pretty well. The free Automap server was already installed on my computer for my 49SL Compact.

2 sliders and 8 touch buttons is not much on my ipod touch screen but the same thing on an Ipad would but really fantastic.
It will be very easy for novation to have it taking advantage on the IPad 1024x768 screen, so i'm sure we won't have to wait very long before seing it.
