Once again this topic comes up and everyone ignores the most interesting (IMHO) aspect of the JP-8000... the feedback oscillator. Sure, its easy enough to detune a few saws, but no one has even attempted to clone this function. The JP8K is a pretty thin-sounding synth in general, and this is really the only reason I hang on to mine. Otherwise, I can get far better supersaw sounds out of other synths. The Andromeda, for example, gives me up to 16 real analog detuned voices, with two oscillators and sub osc per voice!
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

So if anything has got a supersaw in it, it's trance? Utter nonsense.generalstargazer wrote:that means 30% of the world music forum musicians listen and make trance! wootferdik wrote:Yes! Supersaw questions is 30% of the worlds music forums that's why it's about time the world get an emulation!

Well I'd say a majority of trance tunes have a supersaw in it. And sure the supersaw can be used in other genres of music, but it's impact on trance is pretty big.yellowfever wrote:So if anything has got a supersaw in it, it's trance? I bought a JP8080 for this. I struggle to actually use it in tracks though, always sounds not quite right, but it is very cool. One day I'll crack it!
What sorta stuff do you use yours for?

yeah, because digital software running on a computer a box can never be replicated by digital software running on a computer in a differently shaped box.generalstargazer wrote:you will never get a true perfect supersaw with vst
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

I'm not one of these people who keeps going on about synth1, but it does a surprisingly good supersaw all the same.

The supersaw is done. I can't make a feedback oscillator because SE won't make a feedback loop. I DO have a soundfont of guitar feedback and could use that.
