That's some kind of jack configuration error.

I don't know how they set it up in Ubuntu studio, but you might want to check the file permissions for jack_rhsp_host, make sure you own it, and if there is a group called "audio" or something similar available, add jack_rhsp_host to that group.

Cool stuff there Mr Hardbuns, I've always said there wasn't enough plugin formats for Linux

It actually looks really simple to use, kinda like a stripped back VST and I like the Cairo GUI, I will be having a closer look at that

Yup. I was really just looking to make life easy for myself in porting the plugs. It's not set in stone yet though. I'll be changing little things and posting updates for a while.
