No problem at all, nothing to apologize for. Fender is an outstanding achievement for us and it is great to bring that quality to a new product and previous models with AmpliTube 3. We try to keep our prices very competitive and give you great bang for the buck and we realize that everybody's budget is different, and I hope you get a chance to get AmpliTube Fender if/when you can. With AmpliTube 3 and Fender you'll be able to use over $100,000 worth of virtual equipment!declan32001 wrote: My apologies, I'd been reading about Amplitube 3 for hours and this thread was so loooong. Anyway I've pre-ordered it, and hope I love it. And I know I'm going to want the Fender thingy. It's just a lot of money for software for guitarists who have many options and I'm rattled.

Hey Peter,
I was the one writing about how IK/Amplitube should be making a floor unit ala Line 6 a couple of days ago.
Well, wouldn't you know it, my Line 6 XT Live just gave up the ghost yesterday. Crappy. And you know what my options were:
1) Buy Digitech or Boss - Yeah right.
2) Buy an Axe-FX or Digidesign rack - Way too expensive once you factor in the floorboard, and while the Axe-Fx may be worth it, the Digidesign rack is short on features (# of amps, effects) big time.
3) Buy the newer X3 Live from Line 6 - Well, the amp models are still essentially the same as the XT series, the price is much higher, and reliability/construction are serious concerns.
So, that leaves me with my only other option which I intend to do: Repair my unit, or buy another XT Live (which still sell for about $250 used)
It just strikes me as sad when I see my best option as buying a modeling unit closing in on 10 year old technology. I like it just fine, don't get me wrong, but if there was an Amplitube option available in the $400-$600 range (with the same specs/model list as Amplitube 3), I would of jumped on that ship in a heartbeat.
Line 6 is ripe for the taking in my opinion. Never has the user base been less satisfied and generally upset than now, and seemingly, never has Line 6 been less innovative.
If Digidesign can make a $900 rack unit with only 11 amps and a modest number of effects - and be successful, surely IK Multimedia must see that they can do better than that.

Ampitube 2 uses a lot of cpu, I wouldn't be surprised if 3 uses more; a floorboard with the computing power to take full advantage of the software would make a lot of sense.cactuseskimo wrote:I was the one writing about how IK/Amplitube should be making a floor unit
It was actually, an idea I was thinking about the other day. I can't believe they don't have one. I'd rather that, than just the plain software.
I really might buy the Boss GT10 rather than the amplitube 3 upgrade..... Decisions, decisions..

AmpliTube 3 will be at very least similar to AT2/X-GEAR in resource usage. We do concentrate on quality as a priority but resource usage is a part of every revision of every product just to put it in perspective.
As far as release date for AmpliTube 3, we're looking at the last week of this month. We're VERY close. StealthBoard should be out Q2.

You can set Amplitube at the input channel of Cubase and record signals wet.ckatrun411 wrote:Ampitube 2 uses a lot of cpu, I wouldn't be surprised if 3 uses more; a floorboard with the computing power to take full advantage of the software would make a lot of sense.cactuseskimo wrote:I was the one writing about how IK/Amplitube should be making a floor unit

Sorry if I'm repeating a question already asked but it is a huge thread.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:AmpliTube 3 will be at very least similar to AT2/X-GEAR in resource usage. Will there be any upgrade option for StealthBoard for those who already have all the software?

And the preorder discount is good until the end of the month, correct?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:As far as release date for AmpliTube 3, we're looking at the last week of this month. We're VERY close.
Does this mean there may be a couple days to try the demo and still buy it with the coupon?

I have really heard no information about that. I can check, but we may not have that all sorted out yet.Feda wrote:Sorry if I'm repeating a question already asked but it is a huge thread.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:AmpliTube 3 will be at very least similar to AT2/X-GEAR in resource usage. There may be, since we are looking to release the last week of the month. It might be tight though.redshift factor wrote:And the preorder discount is good until the end of the month, correct?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:As far as release date for AmpliTube 3, we're looking at the last week of this month. I just wanted to make sure that the coupon is good until - and including - the 28th, regardless of when AT3 is released.
And you guys know there are only 28 days in February, right?
Releasing it on February 31st would be a very IK Multimedia thing to do!

Yes, the coupon is good through the 28th according to my materials so we're good to go. And yes, we're well aware of how many days there are in February.

But are you all aware that the 27th & 28th are a Saturday and Sunday? So IKMM has effectively until the 26th to get AmpliTube 3 up!Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:And yes, we're well aware of how many days there are in February.
And tell the guys in Italy, no trying to petition the Pope to extend the month!
