Cubase demo... Mac

Anyone DLd this and loaded it? I have a syncro dongle so I thought what the heck... Yikes this is a mess so far? I got the thing loaded, registered and running... Everytime I record a VI and go into the midi editor the screen starts breaking up and glitching. When I switch back to the the sequencer window, same thing??? Hmmm... Logic, Live etc. run fine on this machine FWIW. I was wondering though (before I end this experiement) if anyone had tried this

Cubase is a wreck (for most people, not everyone) on OSX. I tried C5 on my iMac, and it was awful awful awful. Horribly slow and glitchy, with outrageous CPU consumption.

I guess maybe it's why Steinberg held off on making a demo for so long...

Ouch... O.K. I guess I'll delete it. That's Crazy though that it's this bad. I'm not even using 10.5.9! I figured it would be better on the last version of OSX? DOH!

Cubase does something I think which is basically fuckedup for Mac: the basis for the audio, ASIO is not Core Audio; IE., a wrapper Coreaudio2ASIO.bundle is needed. So the whole thing is buggered from the ground up IME.

I use it on a dedicated computer with another slave handling all the instruments and nearly every FX plug, via Vienna Ensemble Pro as a LAN host, and am set, VE Pro stability depending of course, and it's temperamental. Without that, I'd be done with C5 on OSX, period.
