I thought I'd give you all a quick update on progress of the upcoming Strawberry Extended (more articulations) library. Basically it adds a dozen new articulations and a few new selectable release samples--so now the release sample is a control in the articulation section just like the main articulation.
Basically it adds things like m2, M2, and m3 trills, tremolo picking, scrapes and scratches and other effects, Zakk Wylde style aggressive harmonics, and much more.
This extended version will be released as a standalone product as well as an inexpensive update for existing Strawberry Electric Guitar owners.
If all goes as planned, I'll have it done at the end of this month.

Sounds awesome! I can't wait!
Any idea on the upgrade price? I want to make sure there is enough in my Paypal account for when this is release!
Thanks!
Terry.

The "unexpensive update" for those extra articulations is good news, thanks Greg !
BTW, did I get wrong, or were you working some time go on a strum script for Strawberry ?
If it's real, how is the progress on this ?

That's correct--I'm working on a rhythm guitar library that will compliment Strawberry Electric Guitar. The engine's pretty much together, I just have to do the sampling.sirbellog wrote: BTW, did I get wrong, or were you working some time go on a strum script for Strawberry ?

The extended version upgrade price will most likely be in the $30-40 USD range.

Good news again, and thanks again.
Now, when you say "I just have to do the sampling", I confess this does not give me any sort of clue on an approximate ETA....
Would it be something like 1 month, or rather 6 , or even more ...... ?
And can you share just a few things about the potential (which kinds of chords, are inversions possible, are there strumming speed and up/down variations....) ?
You indeed said too much or too little !

By the sampling, I mean the actual recording of the samples. It's good that I'm already at this point, since the scripting engine for the rhythm guitar is so large. I estimate that the library will be done about a month after the release of Strawberry Extended.sirbellog wrote: Now, when you say "I just have to do the sampling", I confess this does not give me any sort of clue on an approximate ETA....

Rhythm guitar parts can be very tedious and time consuming to sequence. They're also difficult to perform realistically from a keyboard. What I've done is to develop a system that works similarly to an arpeggiator, but with much more control. You can design strumming patterns within the interface, and change chord definitions (that is, how the guitarist frets chords on the fretboard). You can control things like strumming speed (within the pattern, even), swing, velocity, muting, and much more.sirbellog wrote: And can you share just a few things about the potential (which kinds of chords, are inversions possible, are there strumming speed and up/down variations....) ?
Performance is two-handed. Your right hand holds down a chord (usually a triad), and your left selects which pattern to use. This way you can start and stop patterns whenever you want. You can also change chords within patterns, and realistic chord transitions (produced by the modeling of each individual finger on the fretboard) are created.

Here's a quick example of what Strawberry Extended is capable: http://www.orangetreesamples.com/audio/classicrock.mp3
The main thing to notice is the attack of the notes, where you can hear the pick aggressively hitting the strings, creating a lot of extra noises that you don't usually hear sampled. This kind of playing is really useful for grungy rock and blues playing.
Oh, and the guitar part is all played live, by the way.

Perfect timing! I have a track that is just screaming out for some of those screaming Zakk style pinch harmonics! Where and when can I buy it?
Thanks again Greg for all your hard work!
Terry.

I'm aiming to have it out by the weekend. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the audio demos, too.

The demos sound really good. I'll be ordering the upgrade next payday. Can't wait to see what other products you have planned for the future.Gregjazz wrote:Uploading right now... it should be released really soon.
