+1 here for the "downgrade" from 3.0 to 3.2 (didn't try 3.1) -- In my case 3.2 only added something related to iPhone,(the BonJour program - what the hell is that??? - I have no idea) something I don't have and don't intend to acquire ever... Worst, it lost proper control over the nuendo3 mixer -- like it only could move the MIDI faders up(!), and if I wanted to pull them down it simply would n't move them!... very annoying -- I had to move back to automap3.0 because of this!
I Posted this problem on the unofficial Novation forum at Audio-advice.net, where Mick G. from Novation is the moderator and is usually a very helpfull person, but this time I got no answer whatsoever...

Hi Chris, thanks for your post, I've just read and answered Mick's post (Yes, I'm the Virtual_Al guy there at the AudioAdvice.net Novation ReMoteSL forum - that was my screen name from the older yahoo ReMote-SL forum).
Thanks again for your help.

I dont use any of the knobs on my midi keyboard. They just don't integrate very well with my DAW, in the same way a control panel on a hardware synth does.

I'm very curious about the Nocturn. Hows does it actually function. Does it allow you to work completely without touching the mouse? Are you able to navigate between different tracks, windows and plugins within your DAW? Can you control every parameter of a selected plugin, lets say a complex modular synth with lots of buttons and knobs?

Some experience withe FLstudio...You need a mouse to switch to different plugins.Plugins must be launched in their Automap wrapped form, so you can't switch between windows/tracks AFAIK.You can control every synth parameter it seems , as in your last question.
If you design your on synth sounds or you play mostly sequenced music, it's probably beneficial.I find myself using presets and the mouse more than my Nocturn though. :) It's not a daw controller ( afaik ).

How much you can control depends on the synth. The big modular ones usually can not have everything controlled. It depends on whether the synth exposes it's parameters to host automation. For example Absynth parameters can not be controlled by automap except for the performance controls. Like wise Alchemy's modulation controls can not be controlled by automap. Only the source controls and performance controls. And with a nocturn you might find it very difficult to control something with many possible parameters like Zebra simply because there would be so many pages. Also you can't get around drawing in waveforms and using the mouse for some things like that. Even with the remote SL, which has 3 times as many controls per page, it can still be a lot of moving between pages. The one thing that would make a remote SL such a HUGE improvement was if you could jump directly to any page of a template by some shifted function of the buttons. There are 32 buttons on a template. If they would have made it so that you jump directly to a page by pressing a modifier and a button, it would make automap infinitely more useful for very large synths.
