I've had my JP-8000 since 1999 and I have used it on many records, toured with it and it is still going strong, every day.
I pretty much know this very synth inside out and I have yet to find anything that even resembles it in a plug-in format. The feedback OSC is one thing, but I see the JP-8000 as a whole.. it is not only software, it is also a very proper controller in itself. You have INSTANT control over all major parameters. That is what makes me like it so much. You can use it live. Live.
Also, I can not think of any plug in from 1999 I would still be using, do you?
I know I should record and post some JP-8000 videos on youtube so you'd hear how I use it. I know people in the trance genre love the supersaws, but I use the JP-8000 for ambient / world kinda textures and SFX. There's not a single trance user preset saved on my JP.
