On one hand, I wanna say, you're on CRACK!tattiemannie wrote:Alone - MOK ... Nice track! ... Would have like to have heard more variation in sounds in a track this long,
... And on the other hand, I think you're probably right! ><
Cubase only allows for 32 instruments in the VST rack, and when I used them all up, I kinda got lazy and just stopped there. What I shoulda done is started bouncing individual parts to make more room for ambiance pieces and one-shots. I did want more of those... I'm thinking I'm going to revisit the track, and do precisely that.
And spice up the automation throughout, ala Totolitoto.
Anyhoo! Thank you for the exceptionally kind words! I'm particularly happy the length didn't bore. I was super paranoid about that hehe.
Next time around though, my entry's gonna be 5 mins tops. ...Oy...

Great, my evil plan to get no votes at all finally seems to be coming into fruition.

MOK 19, There is no shortage of sounds, I just found that many of them were quite similar... If you're gonna rework it, I would advise you not to squeeze more instruments in, unless you first economise the use of sounds you are already using.
It is perhaps the amount of instruments in the track that gets in the way of any individual sound standing out and saying 'Hey! I rock!'
Good luck with the rework though ... free from the restrictions of OSC

10 Gone Rogue - Rellik
5 Ice Cold in Alex - Mouxbar
3 Rogue Attack - Xenobioz
2 Rogues in the House - EvilMarshmallow
1 No Rogues Were Harmed - Nahkranoth
One of the hardest OSCs yet to call, I should add. So many great tracks and so few votes to share between them. Excellent efforts all round. I had planned to participate myself this time but sadly my own track, to be called La Vie en Rogue, never got past the 'great, that's the title sorted now just to do the music' stage.

Thanks, MajorBloodnok, for this 1 point! No, seriously
I wish you to overcome this "title stage" next time (or is it this time already?)
Meanwhile I'd like to suggest one of the Neotec synths for the next OSC. Preferably CetoneSynth2. It has almost no presets, so it's a perfect candidate for a challenge

...prob solved, the votes had all been added ... but I'd counted wrong.
I had put MOK19's total as 75, when in fact it should have been 85
... now edited.
... So now I can get the new count done properly!

Right, here we go, after 21 votes, and with less than 2 days to go, this is how the story goes ...
1. (1.) Alone - MOK ... 3, 10, 3, 5, 3, 1, 10, 10, 5, 10, 5, 10, 10, 5, 2, 1 = 93
2. (2.) Rogue Batty's Dream - Totilototo ... 10, 5, 10, 10, 10, 2, 5, 3, 3, 5, 2, 10, 2 = 77
3. (3.) Gone Rogue - Rellik ... 2, 10, 10, 1, 10, 5, 2, 2, 10, 1, 5, 10 = 68
4= (4.) RogueRage - tattiemannie ... 3, 1, 10, 1, 10, 3, 3 = 31
4= (5=) Rogues in the House - EvilMarshmallow ... 2, 5, 2, 5, 3, 2, 10, 2 = 31
6= (5=) Curiosas - shroom feverish ... 3, 5, 3, 3, 5, 3 = 22
6= (11.) All Too Familiar - Yeager ... 1, 2, 5, 2, 1, 1, 10 = 22
8. (8.) No Rogues Were Harmed - Nahkranoth ... 5, 5, 5, 1, 1, 3, 1 = 21
9. (7.) Heavy Rogue - V'ger ... 3, 2, 1, 3, 1, 2, 3, 2 = 17
10. (9.) Skanky Funker - Mr Wobble ... 2, 3, 10 = 15
11. (10.) She Was Hatless - John Boyd ... 5, 2, 1, 1, 3 = 12
12. (14.) Rogue Attack - Xenobioz ... 2, 1, 5, 3 = 11
13. (12.) Enable Smiling - MA Simon ... 1, 1, 2, 3, 1 = 8
14. (13.) Shadow Animals - AbstractCats ... 1, 5 = 6
15. (16=) Ice Cold in Alex - Mouxbar ... 5
16. (15.) Winter On Andara - AbstractCats ... 2
17= (16=) 99 - dwsel
17= (16=) Point Six Nine - mrblitz000
17= (16=) Roguedub - No_Use
( Voters: 21, Votes 441 )
The top 3 retain their places, well clear of the rest, but the gaps between them look to have shrunk significantly!
'Rogues in the House' joins 'RogueRage' in 4th place with an impressive 12 point gain.
And still we have a fairly tight cluster not too far behind, headed up by 'Curiosas', and 'All too Familiar' ... the highest climber jumping 5 places and doubling its score with an 11 point gain .... demonstrating how feasible it might be for just about anyone to make a late charge in an upward direction!
....But thats up to the Voters!!!!
.. So come on folks, you're running out of time!!!
