So if you don't use them, what benefit is there to you in making them at all?
lots of benefit

1. you learn some new things about how synths work and how that can relate to sound design
2. you learn a bit more more about GUI design (specifically how knobman/skinman works)
3. it keeps me in the music arena while im not actually writing music

there is no way in the world i could make a synth in SE that was good enough to replace anything i have and use already, but for fun and personal enjoyment (along with a little bit of learning) its nice to dabble in SE sometimes.

You could achieve all that without ever having to release them to the public, so obviously there is far more to it than that, so stop pretending otherwise.

how about the satisfaction of giving something away for free?

why is a freeware developer seemingly accusing another freeware developer of having "ulterior motives?"

don't you give your stuff away to draw attention to your music (and thus, yourself), mr. bones?

Post

Yea Krim, stop pretending.
You know it's because you'd rather be playing with your "hardware knobs" instead.
