First, here's the link to join: THIS GROUP BUY IS CLOSED.

Most of the information you need to know is on that page along with demos for most of the kits (with more coming). The duration is February 15th through March 30th 2010. The starting price is only $149 and it goes down to $99. At this point most of you know how a group buy works but in case you have any questions feel free to ask! Read "How it works" on the paged linked to above.

This time there are some fantastic kits from some of the best drummers in the world including Jerry Marotta (Peter Gabriel), Ed Greene (Steely Dan), John Blackwell (Diddy, Prince), Danny Gottlieb (Pat Metheny Group), Nick D'Virgilio (Tears for Fears) and Bill Bruford (Yes, King Crimson) plus drums in the style of Ringo/Beatles as well as other Classic Rock, British Rock, Retro Soul and Big Band Jazz... plus there are kits with signature kit pieces from artists such as Stewart Copeland (Signature Tama), Dave Weckl (Signature Yamaha), Dennis Chambers (Signature Pearl) and more!

On top of these powerful "STm" kits (Stereo Kit pieces with multichannel mixing of each kit piece + Convolution Impulse ambience mixing) you have MORE ambience from famous studios all over the world including some recorded by legendary engineer/producer Ken Scott (Beatles, Pink Floyd, Jeff Beck, Elton John, Supertramp, David Bowie... and co-creator of the upcoming "A Ken Scott Collection: EpiK DrumS" with Sonic Reality.

If that wasn't enough we have 1,000 grooves courtesy of Groove Monkee and that's 1,000 in iMAP and 1,000 in GM - newly updated as well. But, did you like the 170 "SquidiMidi" grooves (aka Drum Masters Midi Grooves Vol. 1) you got from the previous Ultimate Studio Drums Bundle 1? (which is still available for a little longer so if you don't have it yet GET IT NOW before it is gone forever: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4167 ) Well, we have up to 200 or more SquidiMidi/Drum Masters midi grooves in iMAP format for you in this group buy. In fact, the more people join the more midi there will be! Same thing for the Convolution Impulses. The more people join the more we'll throw in. That's how these things work.

Also, for a group buy to work it is all up to YOU - the group - to spread the word and let others know about it, talk about it, discuss it, talk about how much you love the first Ultimate Studio Drums Bundle or convey what you know so others can benefit. If you post outside of this thread PUT UP A LINK so we can see it and some of us will participate in that thread. Don't forget to pick up some epointz referrals while you're at it and earn some FREE DOWNLOADABLE SOUNDS!

Here's the link to join: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4181

TWO FREE MULTITRACK KIT BONUSES REACHED! OR FREE INFINITE PLAYER PLUS ONE MULTITRACK KIT!

ALSO: FREE DVD OPTION (just pay shipping in the last week of March to get it)

We're adding something to the pot to spice it up. There was going to be a redeem code that so far will choose ONE Multitrack kit out of a selection of 8.

Now we're going to do something even better than that and you don't even have to hit a higher threshold to get it either. You can now choose TWO Multitrack kits out of the 8 OR choose ONE Multitrack kit and a FREE Infinite Player. We're back to that option.

So, in other words, if you don't own Infinite Player yet congrats. It's now going to be FREE JUST for joining THIS Group Buy!!!!

If you DO own the Infinite Player already from either the previous Group Buy or you purchased it a la carte (which gave you a free bonus Deluxe Piano) or had Infinite Player before that with another SR product then instead you can have a SECOND Multitrack Kit for FREE!

Now remember we do also have a FREE DVD Option on the MAIN sounds of this which do not include the Multitrack kits - those would still have to be downloaded.

-----
PRIZES!

EVERYONE in the Group Buy will get their choice of TWO Multitrack kits or they can choose INFINITE PLAYER (if they don't already have it) and ONE Multitrack kit. That is how the redeem code will work with a multiple choice and they download it from DownloadableSoundz.com like last time.

However, the first 300 (instead of 200) will enter into a drawing and 5 lucky people will win one of the following prizes:

1. One of Neil Peart's Drum sticks used in the sample session.

2. A Drum Head signed by Danny Gottlieb

3. A Drum Head signed by one of the EpiK Drummers of the Ken Scott Collection (Rod Morgenstein, Terry Bozzio or Billy Cobham - not sure which yet)

4. Danny Gottlieb's played and beaten Drum Stick

5. An EpiK DrumS poster signed by Ken Scott

Plus, all 5 winners will get a bonus Sonic Reality t-shirt with whatever we have in your size (could be an SR shirt, a Studio ProFiles shirt, an Infinite Player shirt or a Sonik Elementz shirt!!!!

... more about this upcoming "Sequel" group buy bundle II!

The strength of this sequel is the variety and artist-flavored kits to add to what people got in the first Ultimate Studio Drums bundle. So, you'll have some kits from Jerry Marotta which are unique and good for "World Music" and Rock/Pop (well, Jerry played with Peter Gabriel so it has that sort of sound). Then there's Danny Gottlieb's DW kit (original drummer for Pat Metheny) and a few kits from Ed Greene who played on the album "Aja" by Steely Dan as well as The Nightfly by Donald Fagen. He used to be my next door neighbor when I had a house in Eagle Rock with Kevin Gilbert (an artist I used to play with from the band Toy Matinee - for those that know).

Then, speaking of KG, there's more Nick D'Virgilio of the progrock band Spock's Beard (and also former bandmate of mine). If you liked the Mapex Blasticks kit, this "Sequel" has that same kit but played with regular sticks. GREAT sounding kit! More John Blackwell kits in this and there's even Steve Gadd and Bill Bruford kits in it. Also a kit in the style of Ringo (an old Downbeat Keystone Badge 60's Oyster Pearl Ludwig set) and another cool Bonham-style kit - this time played with HANDS like the song Moby Dick.

There's definitely some cool things to compliment the other collection OR one could get it on its own (but they'd need the Infinite Player which they can get separately). That you get here: http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=2459

Squids,

For the hard of thinking: how do these kits / patches relate to the kits / patches from the same drummers in the original Drum Masters? (Should that be "Drum Masters 1"?)
They are the updated Stereo kits from Drum Masters 1. Yes, if someone already owns Drum Masters 1 Silver, Gold or Platinum then this Sequel has some overlap. But, actually, for the price it might be worth it for the new material alone. The material not previously released includes:

Bill Bruford kit (we never actually released his kit samples, just audio grooves)

Bonham-style "Hands" Kit - never released and really cool/fun.

Stewart Copeland Signature Snare/Tama kit with Octobans
Dave Weckl Signature Yamaha Snare
Dennis Chambers Signature Pearl Snare

RingBeat (Ringo-style) STm kit (never released as stereo before)
Soul Kit (same thing - never released as stereo let alone STm)
Classic Rock & British Rock kits have also not been released before as stereo so it is nice to have those as STm - plus these style kits were never included with the regular Silver, Gold or Platinum Drum Masters 1 collections. But they were included as a la carte MT versions in a past Group Buy (or individual downloads on www.downloadablesoundz.com in the instrumens section).

There's a "Progressive Roto" kit with Low Roto toms never before released that is sweet as well as more Timbale kits (with Timbalitos too).

There's a Big Band Jazz kit that hasn't been released as stereo or MT before. This is different than the Ludwig Jazz kit.

There's some Drum Doctors snares recorded at previously mentioned "Mower" studio which compliment the NDV kits with other options... an RGC and RGS snare but also a nice Ludwig Black Beauty recorded there too. All previously unreleased.

In fact, only about 9 out of the 25+ Drum Masters kits of the sequel have previously released samples from version 1 with updated scripts. So, while the people that own those 9 which are these:

NDV STm Mapx Kit Stick
NDV Roto STm Kit
NDV Timbale STm Kit
Jerry Marotta STm Kit Yam
Jerry Marotta STm Kit Brush
Ed Greene STm Kit 1
Ed Greene STm Kit 2
Danny Gottlieb STm Kit
John Blackwell Yam STm Stick

can get a FREE update to the new Drum Masters version 2 patches (all stereo kits from Drum Masters 1 WILL have their free updates THIS month for sure... Multitrack updates are taking longer). Still, this Group Buy might be worth it for everything ELSE that hasn't been released before as stereo or STm which is this and more:

Bill Bruford STm Kit
Progressive Roto STm Kit
Hot Timbale STm Kit
RingBeat STm Kit
Retro Soul STm Kit
Classic Rock STm Kit
British Rock STm Kit
Bonzo Hand STm Kit
Big Band Jazz STm Kit
Coplnd Octabon STm Kit
Weck Yam STm Kit
Chamber STm Kit
Drum Doc RGS STm Kit 1
Drum Doc RGC STm Kit 2
Mower Black Beauty STm Kit

But what will REALLY make this special is that not only will the Sequel have another 25 Hybrid Kits that mix and match the above but if just 200 people are reached (1/4 of the level the first one got to) then everyone who bought Ultimate Studio Bundle 1 AND this Bundle 2 will get a stellar 50 more Hybrid kits that mix and match between BOTH bundles... and these are some of the best sounding kits ever because they really cherry pick amongst a diverse variety. Some of my personal favorite combinations of OWD and Drum Masters kit pieces... mixing and matching NDV Collins-style with Jerry Marotta Gabriel-style or Bonham with Ringo-style and a fusion of really good combinations as long as that reasonable goal is reached which I think can be accomplished if everyone gets into it.

On top of this there will be 50 more Convolution Studio Ambience Impulses but 25 more and 25 more depending on the number of people. In the end you could end up with over 200 different impulses which is quite a collection of ambience to play with. While we can't name the studios we have some from studios that are no longer around but classic records (and film soundtracks) have been recorded plus some really rare ambience from famous artist's private studios and more.

If that wasn't enough there will be over 1,000 IMAP and GM midi grooves this time also included and no waiting once the lowest price is reached! Download away at the end. It should be a LOT smoother this time.

I hope that sounds like fun!

Some people haven't even seen the first Star Wars. ;)

Luckily though that stays in their user area until they want to download it any time. DVD versions also available for both. The DVD version for this one will only be $20 plus shipping (but not including any bonus extras should there be any added - just the main product).

Incidentally, the HARD DRIVE with the sounds of EITHER Ultimate Studio Drums Bundles - 1 and/or 2 will be $199 for the 250 Gigabyte Hard Drive including all of these sounds installed on it. Just so you know that is what the price of this 7200 portable hard drive normally costs more or less! So... more or less "free" installation for those that want the HD (and you can have it put on the HD even if you downloaded and even if you got the DVD option). We'll have that available to order soon. Right now all of our hard drives are taken up for FX Tron orders and EpiK DrumS - A Ken Scott Collection and they are back ordered from the manufacturer. But, as soon as we get a bunch in we'll start making it available and if you want Ultimate Studio Drums Bundle II (this group buy) on it then that will ship in March!

Post

Hey, the emails haven't even gone out yet and we have 10 people joined. That's a good sign! Remember we have a month and a half for this one and the last Ultimate Studio Drums Group Buy exceeded 600 people. I think it will be reasonable to hit 200 and get the lowest price. But you still have to make that happen... we can only do so much. I can maybe re-tell some stories that got deleted in other threads! ;)

Post

Will you still have the PayPal option for this one too? Or, will that wait a day or two until it reaches 200? :D

13 already  just had a listen to the demos and these sound great!
Nobody's a nobody...

Post

So (since this is a foregone conclusion I'm going to buy this anyway), just making sure the kits in this GB don't overlap the kits from the previous one. Correct?

This is not totally clear to me. Do I need registered Infinite player if I have full version of Kontakt 4 or is it only needed with the player version?

You'll definitely need the Infinite Player to play these drums. They won't play in Kontakt or the Free Kontakt Player without it.

Damn. Probably can't afford this then. Luckily there's that SSDrums sale going on. Thanks for quick answer.
