Regarding presets, much requested, and it's cool to hear IK listen.
But really, with guitar there are so many variables involved even before the signal hits Amplitube - the player more than anything else, guitar, strings, pick, DI chain - I wouldn't hold my breath for 3rd party presets to sound good with your own playing.
Two cool aspects about presets however :
- you can learn by analyzing how other folks approach creating a certain sound, what chains they use and so on
- and, even better, you can save your own creations for further reference - and the option of module specific presets can be very helpful for those disciplined enough ...

imo and at least for me discovery is the best way to truly understand how to get tones you want.susiwong wrote: Two cool aspects about presets however :

again for me this is the one reason for presets, if I label the preset for the song and put a song on the back burner (and my back burner would probably look like something from hoarders) I can recall the exact tone at a later date.- and, even better, you can save your own creations for further reference - and the option of module specific presets can be very helpful for those disciplined enough ...

Presets are a strange thing to debate on amp sims, for folk like us trying a new amp it's second nature to go right to certain parameters to see how they react when tweaked. For me it isn't one setting but the spectrum of the parameter's coverage. I shopped for amps since getting my first electric guitar when most people didn't even have color tv this way, presets do not give me any answers but a tweak says it all
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Sometimes presets can be helpful though, I know that when I got my Small Clone I tweaked but I also made sure I Googled what the "Come As You Are" settings were just to see if it was really spot on. And then I tweaked again... mostly to different settings because that was too much modulation for my taste

we're completely on the same page here like probably most folks coming from hardware. There are different folks for sure however.
With the Leslie and stereo path I can see more keyboard players using it ...
We all know what that means, though the situation sure has improved since the Japanese invented the intelligent keyboard.
I definitely like the option of building a custom "library" of partial presets though to include in the song folder, this could be handy.

Yeah, this kind of thing is one of the practical reasons I decided to just persist with amp sims and upgrade to AT3 instead of delving into real tube amps. I often want to work on a song in sections, bouncing between different tracks with vastly different sounds. With a real amp/cab/mics, you've almost got to record an entire track of guitar from start to finish while a specific sound is set up, since it's such a pain dialing in a tone, moving mics, etc. (and of course you'll never get that exact tone back once you play with dials and move mics).if I label the preset for the song and put a song on the back burner (and my back burner would probably look like something from hoarders) I can recall the exact tone at a later date.
Well, that and the fact that if I did pick up that Emery Microbaby combo I was looking at, I know from going through it already with synths that I'd soon want another amp and/or cab, and another, and more mics, since I'd want more sonic variety. It would turn into a money pit fast.

Will there be a small clone emulation available in amplitube 3 ? I'm asking because I only saw some small stone and electric mistress pictures...Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Sometimes presets can be helpful though, I know that when I got my Small Clone I tweaked but I also made sure I Googled what the "Come As You Are" settings were just to see if it was really spot on. Unfortunately, as it stands, the answer is no.musicbird wrote:Will there be a small clone emulation available in amplitube 3 ?
Chorus is one stomp effect that continues to be severely overlooked in AmpliTube.
I'd love to see a Small Clone.
Along with a Boss CE-2 and TC Electronic SCF.
Maybe an Ibanez CS9, too.
The addition of those pedals would bring AmpliTube's chorus selection on par with its flangers and phasers.

Wait a minute…. Coupon? What Coupon? I get all of the IK news and KVR news and I don't remember anything about a pre-order coupon. I pre-ordered a long time ago. Di I miss out on some good savings?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Yes, the coupon is good through the 28th according to my materials so we're good to go. And yes, we're well aware of how many days there are in February.
Thanks,

No, there is no Small Clone in AmpliTube 3. I can suggest it (I do send these suggestions along anyway). I like mine, and wouldn't mind seeing a virtual version. *breaking news* As I was typing this reply I learned that we will do a Small Clone in the future! Nice.
@sampc - there was a mailing that went out around NAMM time and I started a thread in the Marketplace but it slid down there too. Until the end of the month, there's a $50 coupon code AT3PRE which will take that off of whichever you qualify for (upgrade, crossgrade, full, or pedal package). Drop me a line if you have any questions, etc.
Thanks!

man, you guys are going to model every freakin' elctroharmonix plug... that alone places amplitube on top of the competition. i've wanted all of them since i first started playing guitar, but only ever owned the mistress. electroharmonix pedals just speak to me from beyond.
i'm excited because the memoryman and big muff were already really good models.

Oh yeah, remember the Big Muff and Memory Man. We did those well. I use the Big Muff in AmpliTube more than my real one.
I've also asked about POG and I think one more that I can't remember. I would love an old LPB-1 since I was dumb and sold mine that was from the 70s. And not the new ones, though they really aren't bad. Their Metal distortion pedal is pretty versatile too. Anyway, that list goes on and on!!!
