I explained it all.
I used a "AIR" licensed version to compile.
I can't wait to have access to my (payed)licence in time for kvr annoucement.
You are ccusing me of what?

Interesting...tomg wrote:Yes there are.. Dunno what was used though. A simple subtractive would not require physical modeling.woodster wrote:What I'm even more sceptical about are the claims that the synth was built using Physical Modeling technologies.
I'm by no means an authority with regards Synth Edit, but I'd be slightly surprised to discover there are any Physical Modeling capabilities available whatsoever.
Cheers for the clarification tomg

I could understand those discussing about Se and that "Team Air" thing but would appreciate if the discussion would go in the direction of talking about what the synth could really do. IMHo the sound quality is really good and the amount of features is enough for doing nice sounds.
Paying for Se synths or nor not is a philosophical question but AFAIK more and more devs want to have money for their SE synths/plugins.
If the devs don't want to earn money why should anyone of them buy a commercial SE license then ??? And if no one pays money to the SE dev i guess that sometimes he will stop the development...

Actually, once you buy Synthedit I think your license comes the same day.
And it's only $50. You can make that in 1 day. Even the paperboy makes that.

tbh id sooner support a dev with a crappy sounding plugin that one who used anything cracked to release the best sounding plugin.Ingonator wrote:I could understand those discussing about Se and that "Team Air" thing but would appreciate if the discussion would go in the direction of talking about what the synth could really do. Sure it doenst matter, if se-based or not, if the vst is good! Sylenth1 gui is also coded with se as host...
But the core of this discussion is sure the point of team air in the plug. That looks not nice.

Paperboys earn that much in a day ? Christ he'd be delivering all day around here to earn that.RunBeerRun wrote:Actually, once you buy Synthedit I think your license comes the same day.

He said that he has a license but didn't have that computer available for the time of release. You could call it stupid to use an illegal license instead of waiting but if he really owns a license it's still legal in some ways. I expect that the next versions are compiled with a legal SE license.LeVzi wrote:tbh id sooner support a dev with a crappy sounding plugin that one who used anything cracked to release the best sounding plugin.Ingonator wrote:I could understand those discussing about Se and that "Team Air" thing but would appreciate if the discussion would go in the direction of talking about what the synth could really do. If it turns out that he lied it's different but until then i would stop accusing him permanently. Just my thoughts...

Frankly IMO it's BS. "Away from his computer"? That's not the way SE works. A plugin is compiled from many source files scattered about on your machine. You almost tune your computer to be an SE platform with support software and such.Ingonator wrote:If it turns out that he lied it's different but until then i would stop accusing him permanently. Regardless, he should just buy a license and recompile. Most of the people around here have a low tolerance for bullshit but I know they are forgiving about this kind of thing as long as you get your shit straight.

1. who was forcing him to release at the time he couldn't reach his "main" computer with a valid license on it? he could as well just wait with the release til he has his "main" computer in reach.
2. not to be the one who raises the finger here, but it in no way turns it legal if you bought that certain software, and still use the crack. no matter what.
might well be, and i appreciate that. not being a black-painter, but maybe he got his pants wet now, seeing the reaction here on the forum, and just bought the se copy now, to recompile the synth? and otherwise, without the reactions on the forum, would have never bothered to buy a license? i'm not insulting that here, but that could have been the case here, too ...Ingonator wrote:I expect that the next versions are compiled with a legal SE license. >snip<

I should say that I don't have any real interest in this particular synth.
I don't want to jump on anybody making accusations, but I see no reason to give the benefit of the doubt to this dev either.
But that's just me.
No discussion of the merits (or shortcomings) of his/her replies or reasoning could convince me to part with my money.
If I was interested in a Little Phatty clone, I wouldn't buy this one.
Mostly as a result of the decisions the dev has made here publicly.
I see no reason to give my trust, never mind my money and my expectations of support and future updates etc.
Recently there have been too may devs go awol, or turn to the dark side by fleecing customers.
Some of these devs were lauded talents, with a bit of history in producing quality products at reasonable prices.
There are many threads that have been (and still are being) played out here on KVR.

The dev is most probably doing this now ->
This is really a nasty little "mistake" when you are just entering the music software business with your first product..
The product seems to be quite nice though. Soundwise it reminds me of the OP-X which was also partly made in SE if I'm not mistaking.

I totally agree. Like already stated I know that he made a mistake but let's start talking about the synth itself.Nielzie wrote:The dev is most probably doing this now ->

I guess that the dev got the point now so we could slowly stop starting that license discussion again and again.
Let's check it again when the new demo is up. At the moment the site is still down.
Could be or not but i guess we'll never find out if he got the license already or just bought it now. Anyway i am sure he'll publish a "legal" version soon and his next plugins will be too then...brok landers wrote: might well be, and i appreciate that. not being a black-painter, but maybe he got his pants wet now, seeing the reaction here on the forum, and just bought the se copy now, to recompile the synth? and otherwise, without the reactions on the forum, would have never bothered to buy a license? i'm not insulting that here, but that could have been the case here, too ...

Hi Ingonator,
I applaud your patience.
I'm interested though, what would this synth offer you that you couldnt/don't achieve with what you have listed in your sig.
Is it really that good that you'd consider purchasing ?

I am still discovering this synth but my fisrt impression is quite good. I was exactly searching for a more "basic" synth with a good sound quality and this is in the right direction. Other reasons are that i'm interested in the hardware Little Phatty too and that the presets of the plugin are really good. Last thing is the vintage style step sequencer which is nice. I have WOk Clockwork so this is not a major criteria but anyway...woodster wrote:Hi Ingonator,

I am a bit disappointed from myself that i "wasted" so much time on this thread but i felt like i had to contribute and the funny thing is that based on the heated discussion the synth became more interesting for me then it was at the beginning. Really funny, or not?
With Reaper i was able to see that "Team AIR" text now. I'll check it with the new version of the demo when it's out.
PS:
What's not obvious from my signature is that currently i am mostly playing around with sample sets for Kontakt 4, especially the Novachord set from Hollow Sun: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... sc&start=0
Seems like i am "Novachord soundset customer No. 1", maybe i should use this as a trademark...
Besides this the synths in my signature are the ones i use most of the time and the use of Alchemy is constantly growing since the new version is out. Same about Largo v1.5...
