I don't think there's any limitation regarding genres, and - at least as far as I'm concerned - the more genres there are, the more interesting the competition getsorbik wrote: Anyway, unlike i guess the majority here, I'm not much into most electronic music genres. This track attempts to create something not-so-synthish out of this great little synth.

... best of luck in the comp!
Also great to see the effort being applied to help a fellow competitor find a solution to their hosts limitations .... excellent stuff

Just want to throw up that subject again ... next synth? So far the support is still with a b.serrano synth, and we've had a mention of Cetone, Tal elektro (again), and err ... a couple of others I would need to look back to remind me. Need to start the next comp somewhere close to March 1st ... so we need to decide by, say, Monday so we have time to test and make sure whatever we choose is gonna work for everyone, or at least the vast majority of folks.
And if we're happy with a B.Serrano synth, which one??

Actually, I maybe need to further the support for a B.Serrano synth by adding my own thumbs up to the nomination.

Artemis!
Say, on the upload page, once I go into 'upload' view, the files get uploaded, but after that; there's no apparent way to get out of 'upload' mode. It appears as though something has changed with 4shared of late, but i'm not sure exactly what; well, except that the upload interface itself seems to be different from before.

Cheers MajorBloodnok ... your support is noted
... i've tried a few out, with no issues!
Anyway, if there is support for an alternative, get your 2p worth in, cos this is the last time we will have an 'all in' style discussion re. next synth, because from OSC15 onwards decisions re. future featured synth choice will be led by bottom placed entrants in comps ... ie. bottom of the pile in OSC12 ( voting finishes in less than 9 hours!!!!!!!! ) will choose what we use in OSC15.... and so on.

mrblitz000 ... cheers also for your 2p on next synth ... yeah Artemis is good!
re. upload thing ... yeah, it has changed, but I'm not sure if it's completely fixed yet .... but as long as we can upload, then we can cope!

What about Anubis? I admit I've not tried it and I'd previously suggested Adonis/Adonis Pro but b.serrano seems to have replaced them with the donationware Adonis 2.

No MajorBloodnok, theres still a free version of Adonis ... its just that it flags up the donate button ... but scroll down the page, and there's the download button .... I downloaded just 45 mins ago!
But yeah, Anubis is good also! ... I think I will add on extra track composition time if we go for Adonis ... gonna take a while to suss!

Mac of BIOnighT wrote:Too bad, if you could do that, you'd have solved your problem... you should just convert the midi into audio, use the audio track to replace the midi tracks, and add new midi tracks that would play with the audio track (give this second version of the song a different name, like "02" or something) (I'm explaining just because maybe you never had to do this, my apologies if all this is obvious to you. With my computer, I have to bounce audio at least three or four times before a song is complete...)
DeepFiber:
I've been using MU.LAB free in the first OSC. Basically I've done what Mac of BIOnighT says. I've been also working on older computer so turning separate tracks to audio after I've made decision on instruments was necessary
If you don't have a place for placing drums you can start with them, and when you decide they look good enough you can turn them into single audio track. Flexible routing of audio/midi output from single sequences directly to plugins/different levels inside the rack with some imagination may give you few another 'virtual' (imaginary?) tracks

In general, I don't like overcomplicated synths either, so something simple would be fine with me, too.

Does this mean ZynAddSubFX is out of the question?
But if it should be real simple, how about Ugo's 'The Element of Surprise'?
