A depth control makes it sound like they turned the gate into an expander allowing you to control the amount of reduction. That in and of itself is a nice surprise and may do the trick.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:It was redone, but I don't know the nitty gritty details - there's also added Depth control.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:Peter, one thing I keep meaning to ask: were there any changes to Amplitube's gate? I think Line 6's Noise Learn/Reduction system is a godsend when doing work with standard single coils and something similar in Ampltiube 3 (in addition to or instead of a stock gate effect) would be great.

Re choruses, let me add a few gorgeous other, very unique options :
-- Ibanez PC-10 aka DCF-10, or the TC-10
-- Boss Dimension C aka DC-2, much like the legendary 19" Dimension D in a pedal
-- Fulltone Choralflange - the choice of many studio greats
-- not a pedal, but that one legendary preset of the old Intellifex, afair giving you 5 modulated delays and stuff - you haven't lived before trying that one
probably that preset was inspired by some Lexicon presets (PCM 70 e.g.), but Rocktron really nailed that one

The depth control determines how much the signal is attenuated when the gate closes, from -20 dB to -100 dB.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: A depth control makes it sound like they turned the gate into an expander allowing you to control the amount of reduction. The default is -60 dB, which is a strong attenuation of course. But now you have the option to play with that.

am I the only one who likes the CH-1? Mine is original and I have the box but I would never sell it. I use it very lightly and really I used it as a modulated splitter for stereo tracks (after my sansamp in my mini chain).susiwong wrote:Re choruses, let me add a few gorgeous other, very unique options :

No! I like the CH-1 too. I also like the chorus (and delay) on my DEP-5 rack unit.

I have a Boss CH-1 and I hate it. Way too weak, and the little bit of chorus it does add sounds bad. Wholly unexciting pedal, and generally not well regarded. It would be malpractice for IK to model it.

I like the way it did the light thing. I don't like it with any dirty sounds though. Only light and clean. Same with the DEP-5 chorus for the most part.

Don't you think "Super" in the name is a bit misleading?
It's a 98-pound weakling.

Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:No, there is no Small Clone in AmpliTube 3. I can suggest it (I do send these suggestions along anyway). I like mine, and wouldn't mind seeing a virtual version. *breaking news* As I was typing this reply I learned that we will do a Small Clone in the future! Nice.
@sampc - there was a mailing that went out around NAMM time and I started a thread in the Marketplace but it slid down there too. Until the end of the month, there's a $50 coupon code AT3PRE which will take that off of whichever you qualify for (upgrade, crossgrade, full, or pedal package). Drop me a line if you have any questions, etc.
Thanks!
That's great because I just made a thread on KVR a couple of days ago about a Small Clone type chorus. I tried the vsts people told me to check out but I didn't get that watery small clone sound.

just so you dont rely on just harmony central, seems well regarded to me

that's cool, I just got an email saying my Ted Weber attenuator just shipped and will be here by Saturday. But they shipped it fedex (and if possible I avoid them), last thing from fedex was two days late so I'm predicting Monday. I have a bit riding on this because if I like it there's a good chance my next purchase will be the Radial X AMP Active Reamping Devicehibidy wrote:I just got an email saying shipping next week.
That will allow me to re-amp with my Boogie but use modeled stomps (if I like it)

An incredible deal on Amplitube 3 for those that don't have prior versions, listed in bargain center: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... &start=377
