We've discussed that very issue on the thread. It looks like the JTM is going to remain in its inaccurate state in AT3. I'm still waiting on some word from IK on which knob is the one that doesn't really belong, and what setting it needs to be on to be at unity gain (and thus removed from the equation as much as possible). It's been suggested by some that perhaps its the volume knob that needs to be set at 10 to make it authentic, but no one knows for sure right now.

I'd really love to see all the Marshall amps redone to exact spec, the way AT Fender and the new AmpliTube 3 additions were. I really wish IK would have done that with the existing Marshalls for AT3, but it looks as though it is not to be.

Don't expect an official joint venture AmpliTube Marshall Edition, though, since Marshall has now embarked on a partnership with Softube. :x

According to the Amplitube site it seems like there are plans to expand with more models. For instance, Peter mentioned they already plan on doing a Small Clone. So, a) it's fun, but b) there's always the chance that some of our suggestions could be modeled by IK at some point in the future.
c) we guitarists are never satisfied...it goes to 10 we want more it goes to 11, then to 12.

I use to work at a large local chain of music stores (Northeast U.S.) called daddy's junky music. The story is the kids of the guy who started the store gave it that name when they had to help clean out a junky store for his first store.

It seems to me (especially because they have like the largest inventory of used gear in the world) that perhaps it should be changed to daddy's junkys music. Forget the monkey, all the world's a stage and it's on our backs. I propose the first GASA (Gear Acquisition Syndrome Anonymous) support group. :hihi:

Peter, I was taking a look at the new Swell stomp in comparison to the Boss Slow Gear SG-1, and I am a little confused by the BPM SYNC.

The SENS knob on Swell obviously corresponds to the same on the Boss pedal, But what corresponds to the ATTACK on the SG-1?
Would that be DEPTH, or TIME?

Does TIME control the attack of the gate, or the rate of the tremolo?
I thought that Swell was supposed to respond to the incoming dynamics, not a set rate, correct? So then what is the BPM SYNC for?

I'd like some clarification on how this stomp works.

I have 4 ampsims: AmpliTube 2, AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix, AmpliTube Metal, Ampeg SVX. It's 5 if you count AmpliTube X-GEAR!

So really, AmpliTube 3 is going to reduce the number of ampsims I have.

well, i've got th1, n.i. guitar combos, flying haggies, amplitube live, and studio devil... so amplitube 3 will actually make 6... but some of the ones i have are really too "small" to count. that's my story and i'm stickin' to it. 8)

Will Amplitube 3 use up less RAM than Ampeg SVX?

As far as signature series, I do like that - and remember if you have good presets for artists/songs, we are definitely going to have some Preset XChange incentives coming up and the new preset browser and preset system in general makes it WAY easy to identify and keep track of presets with Artist, Band, Song Section, Song Position, and keywords - very descriptive and powerful tagging for future use.
I downloaded those presets, and to be brutally honest I think they are not very "rockman-like". :) There is a hint of the tone, but it seems weak and noisy, and I am using StompIO.

I know there is a preset xchange, but I think what you guys did with the Hendrix amplitube was great, and I think Artist series would sell. A preset on the xchange may not even use the same amp the artist did (sometimes they sound nothing like the tone), or their amp might not be available in Amplitube. That is why I think if you took some more big name guitarist and modelled their rigs, found out what settings they use, etc., that would be VERY helpful to people playing covers in bands or just looking for that same type of tone.

I'm an old fart, if I were to drop dead today the one itty bitty piece of wisdom I would like to leave behind is the one thing the I didn't understand until I got older.

"It's not that complicated", "yes it can be that easy", "you probably are doing/playing it right". The antithesis of all three held me back throughout my younger years.*

There is a site, I forget the name (but someone will post it) that tells of many artists rigs with diagrams etc. If you believe the amps to be fairly accurate in their modeling then that's all you need.

Edit: *if all three are true it doesn't matter, you're an innovator
