I mean amp-wise, though. Vibro-Kings are the weapons of choice. I don't know what's currently on his pedalboard.fanfarecircuit wrote:really?!? now that's impressive.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:fanfarecircuit wrote: how about pete townsend's ripped speaker cone fuzz? You can use the virtual version of what he's been playing through for a while now by using AmpliTube Fender. Edit - and it wasn't just Super Bowl product placement. He has been using them for a while now.

Correct, and what a fantastic amp in the real world !Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Vibro-Kings are the weapons of choice. I don't know what's currently on his pedalboard.

Btw, I'm especially looking forward to the reworked cabs on this one, while the amp modeling is spot on
Not talking about Townshend tone so much, more partial to Pete Anderson's crunch tone personally, which is almost hardwired into the amp ...

To me, the Vibro-King is the Fender amp that has it all for me but in the real world of kids and mortgages, etc I settle for the cool little Blues Junior. I do love the ATF Vibro-King and not only because it saved me lots of $$.

Completely agreed about the VK, definitely in the Fender Top5 of all time ...Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:To me, the Vibro-King is the Fender amp that has it all for me but in the real world of kids and mortgages, etc I settle for the cool little Blues Junior. Unfortunately it has gotten insanely pricey
Cleans are gorgeous and 3d @ lower volume, but the (power amp) crunch needs considerable levels, even problematic in many clubs.
The ATF Vibro-King really captures the tone and dynamic behaviour of that beast, and I'm pretty sure AT3 will have several cabs that show this off in all its glory.

is the vibro-king the fender amp that has the reverb before the amp section? maybe i don't know exactly what i'm saying, but i'm pretty sure i've read about a fender amp that has the reverb in a different part of the signal flow than normal. any idea?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:To me, the Vibro-King is the Fender amp that has it all for me...

Reverb (not unlike the '63 standalone unit) and trem are positioned in front of what would normally be the amp's input on other Fenders.
Coupled with a roughly Tweed Bassman / BF Super inspired amp and a 310 cab this makes it extremely unique and fat sounding.

That's EXACTLY it. Being someone who rarely plays anywhere that can even take the kind of levels mentioned before, not to mention the changes necessary to keep up with the "sweet spots" I am not able to afford something like the VK just for cleans or just for the pushed sound so again I love my lil Blues Junior (wouldn't mind seeing that one modeled, maybe with BillM mods) and of course AmpliTube XGEAR and soon AmpliTube 3susiwong wrote:Exactly !fanfarecircuit wrote:is the vibro-king the fender amp that has the reverb before the amp section? maybe i don't know exactly what i'm saying, but i'm pretty sure i've read about a fender amp that has the reverb in a different part of the signal flow than normal. any idea?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:To me, the Vibro-King is the Fender amp that has it all for me...
