Oh man, I just got off the phone and heard the craziest and coolest thing relating to someone using the Ultimate Studio Drums Bundle but... I can't say anything yet. I will be able to in about a month where I will do an interview officially with them but this is tough for me. I am DYING to say. I am just sworn to secrecy for the time being. It's one of the coolest things I've heard though.
Anyway, sorry to tease (no I'm not, I love to tease). Well, while it's quiet around here I'll get some work done. I'm working on something new and special in the SampleTank world as well as these new "Drummer Tracks" which are full song-length grooves. I was just editing a Rod Morgenstein track and wow he really is amazing.

I'm willing to bet that you probably will have at least twenty PMs within the next hours related to the above post from people asking you to spill the beans on this one! (I promise, though I do have an urge to send you my own PM, I'll refrain and await your public disclosure!)
As far as Rod, he is a superb drummer (I have an old clinic video he did in the 80s or early 90s -- VHS! -- and he's doing some killer playing). But you seem to appreciate great drummers as much as us actual drummers.

FREE INFINITE PLAYER
We have a "secret" offer that is only through the forums if you're lucky enough to have found it by reading this for example. IF someone gets the first bundle which is still available (just without the extras of the group buy):
http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4167
and they join the new group buy "Sequel" which is this:
http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=4181
NORMALLY they would have to still buy the Infinite Player separately which is this (and it comes with a free deluxe piano):
http://www.esoundz.com/details.php?ProductID=2459
Well, as long as you get the first two above then we'll let you have the third thing - the Infinite Player (with the grand piano) for free. That saves you fifty bucks.
The combination of the Bundle 1 and Bundle 2 is quite a lot of variety and a large collection of drums. You'll have over 50 sampled drum kits and over 100 hybrid kits, potentially over 100 impulse ambience from studios around the world, well over 1,000 midi grooves and more all for under $200! That's insane. We don't normally offer that many for this price so that is why it is a limited time thing and after March 30th it will no longer be available.
To get the free Infinite Player you simply have to have purchased the first Bundle 1 and join the current Bundle 2 Sequel Group Buy then email our support manager allen (at) esoundz (dot) com and tell him "Squids said I could have a free Infinite Player if I..." and that's it! It means you read the secret offer on the forum and Infinite Player will be "on the house".
*Note: This offer is only for people that don't already have Infinite Player.

I was just working on these things we call "Drummer Tracks" which are grooves by the drummer in longer length than just 2 bar loops. They're 2-4 minutes long. Sometimes it is a straight groove with live feel and variations, fills, hats, rides etc. and sometimes there's some odd time signatures and some out of the box drumming (even some solos). It's more for non-drummers to play along to if you're a guitarist, keyboardist, bassist, songwriter etc. There are sometimes two version of each track - one that is "loose and live" and the other that is Beat Detectived and lines up with a grid in case you wanted to sequence along with it and have easy editing and/or quantize your parts a little. I personally prefer the loose/live most of the time but each person is different and we'll be offering both in many cases.
Anyway, here's a clip I'll share with you from the Ken Scott sessions. It gives a good example of what Rod Morgenstein's groove is like (for the hundreds of loops that come with EpiK DrumS - A Ken Scott Collection) as well as what his KIT sounds like because this is what we sampled... and what Ken Scott's engineering with the original vintage gear he recorded Rod with the Dixie Dregs sounds like as well. So you get both an idea of what one of the 7 main drum kits sounds like in EpiK as well as what these "Drummer Tracks" titles are like as well (or at least what an outside of the box one is like. This is an excerpt from a Drummer Track that is about 5 minutes long). Listen to this!

Are the "Drummer Tracks" going to be audio or MIDI or both? If they were MIDI then we could pick which Drum Master we want to play with

Drummer Tracks are audio only. That's not to say we don't have midi grooves from great drummers coming as well. We do. But, these are "play along" audio REAL DEAL drum tracks as if they were "lifted" off an album. They're mixed like they would be for an album too. There's EVERYTHING from Rock to Metal to Punk to Progressive to Fusion to Jazz to Hip Hop to R&B/Soul to you name it. Sometimes the Drummer Tracks even have percussion mixed in. It's not the kind of thing you pick apart and rebuild yourself (apart from re-arranging the grid versions if you like). It's more for jamming and songwriting. But, man, I just love it! So much inspiration. It's good for drummers too, if you look at it from an educational side (especially since a lot of the drummers are guys that do the educational drum videos and this is a chance to hear drums isolated - that are not just played like the album but also PRODUCED like the album). I'm excited about it. I think it is really cool! You'll be seeing a LOT more about this coming up. It's a big thing - especially in relationship to AmpliTube 3 and products like that. But a whole other subject than these midi playable drums I realize. I just wanted you to hear Rod Morgenstein. I love the sound of that kit and his playing is just incredible.DarkStar wrote:Are the "Drummer Tracks" going to be audio or MIDI or both? Thanks for the sample. Can't wait to jam with them.Squids wrote:It's not the kind of thing you pick apart and rebuild yourself (apart from re-arranging the grid versions if you like). It's more for jamming and songwriting.
I think you may have missed my question from the other day... Can you please confirm that we are allowed to use these drummer tracks or portions of them in our own songs for commercial release?

There are two versions, a pro version that you CAN use it in your music for release (that's the one that has the loose and grid versions) and then an iTunes/iPhone edition which is only for recreational use and doesn't come with the license to use it in commercially released music (just for messing around and having fun) but a person can obtain the license simply by getting the Drummer Track "Album" pro version... and that's only around $29 so, not a big deal for anyone releasing something commercially.zedd wrote:Thanks for the sample.
