Changing it up 5 semitones kinda helped a little but it's still not that close. I really do wonder if this is just a Prophecy preset that was slightly altered.

the original is just a tweaked Prophecy preset.. you can get pretty close with other synths though.. I replicated it fairly closely quite quickly with a couple of Malstroms in ReasonFragile_Frankie wrote:Changing it up 5 semitones kinda helped a little but it's still not that close. The key elements are the chorusy sounding oscillators (for which I used PWM) this gives a nice rich tone with harmonic movement to start with. The next element to get right (which was missing from your examples) is the get the right amount of "bounce" from the envelopes which give the sound it's punchy quality.
The final layer for me was to get the movement of that filter which gives the final depth and movement to the sound. I ended up using both Bandpass(for the nice sweeping) and Comb filters(for the ringing chorusy effect)
I used 2 Malstroms to richen the sound further and so that I could differ the modulation setting on each to give more depth to the finished sound.

Yeah just listened to the demo and that sounds pretty close, thanks.
You wouldn't happen to know the name of the original Prophecy preset, would ya? I know the one from Smack My Bitch Up is called "303 growler".

Sorry mate.. I haven't worked on a Prophecy for about 10-11 years.. I remember getting rather bored of it's sound and then upgraded to a Z1.Fragile_Frankie wrote:Yeah just listened to the demo and that sounds pretty close, thanks.
