Not really. The difference in phase isn't just limited to distance from the source, frequency response plays a big part. So the minute you throw that second mic on a cab, it's never going to be perfectly in phase with the first across the entire length of the frequency response even if the distance is the same. But...Peter already said there is a way to lock the distance of both mics, so I assume that's sort of what you're asking for.
I think it is quite cool since that's well worth having as a potentially useful tonal tool while we still have the convenience of having an instant assistant engineer to move mics for us.
