Impressive videos!
AmpliTube 3 looks like it could be a winner.

Peter, if the final version is done, how come the people that bought the download version can't download it? I never really understood that. Not bitching, I am just curious. I can understand the physical shipments taking time to print and press, but if the coding is done, what benefit is there in waiting?

There are incidentals to be sure, and though it is final we are still open to finding any final blockers. It is doubtful but possible with any software. You will be seeing your download of this as early as tomorrow, if things continue to go well

I've just been playing with this bad boy, and it's officially AMAZING! The new AC30 is great and just growls like you wouldn't believe, while they even reworked the old AC30 to add some bite to that one too. The Orange just provides instant Black Sabbath (mmm Paranoid). The new Mesa Boogies are great, and the GK and Trace Elliott bass amps had me fooling around with my Jazz Bass for a while and sounded really good.
Out of the original AT2 amps, the Super Reverb, Dual Showman, AC30, and JCM800 all sound awesome (as in noticeable improvement). In fact, every one of the original amps I played just responded great, broke up in a really authentic way, and just overall sounded better.I also ended up rocking out on the red channel of the Triple Rectifier sim for a while.
And what really surprised me is the room simulation. I know they're just impulse responses but they're done so tastefully and sound great. If you bring up the level of the Amp Closet it gives you a cool rockabilly like slapback, and a bit of the studio rooms goes a really long way in adding a bit of depth and realism to the guitar sound.
Then there's the mic section. This section is where the magic happens. Being able to move the mics around is great, then having the ability to blend them into each other on top of it is great. Plus, if you use the mix knob, you can do stuff like get a triple tracked bass with a direct signal and two mics all coming out of a single instance.
Oh, and the Leslie is great. Spent a some time with it using VB3 and it sounded amazing.
Anyway, I'll shut up now. It was just one of those things where I started to check it out and ended up jamming for 2 and a half hours.

On top of what funkybot said, there are are super flexible controls for the mic/placement. For example, you can mute, or solo the mics and there are phase switches for the two mics as. As some of you know, you can also move those mics around freely with the mouse which is DRAMATIC!!!!!! PLUS, there are pans for each mic
You can go a long way with that and the room sims
As stated, the mics are just jaw-dropping. I find myself thinking less about changing cabs and more about dialing in mics/placement which believe it or not is a time saver
