Same here - they say I have a physical product in my cart, but if it is not a physical product then I don't see why no epoitz?

I was looking into getting an SSD expansion, so I listened to the demos on the SSD page (except metal... not into metal these days) and... I couldn't decide, not because they are all equally good (which they are) but because they all sounded so similar to me. I'm not a drummer (yet), more a synth/bassist type. I did get rock/pop 1, just because, and I still feel it's very similar to what I already had. I do like the SSD sound, just I think I have enough of it now :)

The GB is completely different. For one, it's mostly prog rock and jazz drummers as I understand it. I don't remember any kits out of the box that were really metal or rock (though there is a metal demo with the drums from the first GB and it sounded great!). In general, though, these have a lot more variety, not just prog rock either, there's kits in there for everything IMHO. In fact, I haven't heard the second GB (obviously) but even just the first one is a pretty good range of sounds. It's rawer and livelier than SSD to my ears. You might need to do some more processing yourself to tame it some for some kinds of music, which is already done for in SSD, but you can do it.

Difficult choice... SSD will still be around for a while, but not at the prices they are at now. And the GB will not exist at all probably after a couple months.... unless you get the whole drum masters...

Yep, you can. An esoundz exclusive! HALF price on all of the SSD Expansions courtesy of our friends at Steven Slate Drums who wanted to be able to offer all esoundz customers something great too since the timing had clashed of the two promos... this is even better and that's the kind of philosophy we subscribe to. So go for it. But it is only going to be offered for a few weeks and the back to normal price so get it now while it is available. A newsletter is going out today about that AND it is also the LAST day to get AmpliTube 3 with the free TR Single since it is being released THIS WEEK!

The last thing I ever expect to get from this forum is clarity! :) But you did help me a bit with my decision. After listening to the different samples and reading more, I think I agree that the key difference is tweakability vs ready out of the box. Think the group buy is more for me so referral points will go to you jsp1979. Thanks.
Thanks so much for the epointz, hoth.

You're gonna love them drums!

Hey Dave, can you answer a quick question about Slate EX packs? If they are downloadable products can epoitz be used for them? I've heard a conflicting report on another forum. And if no, why not?

As far as I understand, the $30.00 price is only for people that either bought the first group buy or this one, the sequel. Other wise the expansions are $59.00 each.
No, the expansions on their own are $30 each for ANYONE.

The SSD EX + Expansion of their choice are $79.95 for ANYONE but if you bought any of the Ultimate Studio Drums Bundles 1 or 2 then you can use this coupon code on THAT: ESLATE and it will save you $30 off that bundle and make it $49.95 (which is like the $20 EX deal + a $30 Expansion deal all in one!). Remember you can also EARN epointz on it too which gets you some money in your esoundz account to apply toward your next SR download sound purchase... as long as you use an epointz referral name.

epointz can only be used on products you download FROM esoundz, not from other company's sites. So even though these are still "digital delivery" as are IK products sometimes too they do not qualify because they are not downloaded from our site... generally speaking only Sonic Reality products are downloadable from our own site so in a way I guess you could almost say that ONLY Sonic Reality sounds can use epointz... but that isn't ALWAYS going to be the case.

However, the good thing as I just pointed out in my last post is that you can EARN epointz from ANY purchase on the site. So that right there makes it better to buy it on www.esoundz.com than anywhere else that doesn't give you something BACK after your purchase. Our epointz referral system is similar to Best Buy's REWARD ZONE in that each time you purchase you can get something back... except in this cae not only does the person purchasing it get something back but the person they use for a referral gets a nice hook up! Some people get used so many times for referrals they end up being able to download FREE products from esoundz... but yes they are probably free Sonic Reality products as opposed to Steven Slate, IK or other brands that have delivery from other sites but... certainly Sonic Reality sounds are no less desirable! ;)

Thanks for the answer Dave - I also just found that exact answer in your FAQ on the site. Not sure why I did not think of looking there earlier.

Is it correct to assume there are 5 EX expansions, and if you get 'em all (as well as EX itself), you effectively have SSD Platinum?

I think that is the case except for maybe a kit or two. I know when it was first released last year this question came up and I think there might be a couple that are Platinum exclusives.

Any idea how long it takes to get a download link for the add on EX packs?
I ordered a couple yesterday but haven't had any further news> I just wondered what was a typical wait time.....

cheers
and no worries Lukianowicz about epoints - I like your persistence....

oops - epoints name is jdavies
cheers

It's a little convoluted. Go to your Esoundz "My Downloads" page to get the serial number. Enter that on the web page listed on the respective Esoundz EX Expansion product page, follow the instructions as they come and you should be able to download them.

Note, the serial numbers may not appear instantly after your order.

IS IT A JOKE!? (post above) :D
I just saw a new page with no information post so I filled in for you. The razz  was because I replaced your referral eSoundz username with mine.
