Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: They're all great, and the FAC on the Orange is sometimes puzzling in nature (kind of reminds me of a Varitone control as far as functional category as well as being a bit perplexing to people) but sounds phenomenal.

All this talk about Orange's is making my mouth water :hihi:

My OR120 is currently out of comission (awaiting TWO transformers from Mercury Magnetics) and the idea of having a reasonable approximation to play with in the mean time is very appealing...

The FAC control is AWESOME... it essentially acts as a variable capacitor in a lo-cut filter circuit. Adding HUGE amounts of bass as you move it to the left. As you can probably tell, there is a drastic impact on all sorts of dynamics when you play with it.

I'm surprised no one has tested the Orange model with bass yet... the OR120 is pretty popular in the indy and stoner scenes as bass head.

Well, the 25th is my b-day so maybe IK will see fit to give me an awesome present by releasing AT3.

Orange, it's sought after for a reason

I've come up with all kinds of crazy tones from it. Like several other models, it has ALLOT of girth depending on the settings. I can get a twang out of it with the strat, or with the same guitar, I can get a really warm crunch sound.

Want more gain? Why not try the "ambassador" Sure, throw in on there. Put a bit of middle out of it, maybe turn the level down a pinch or two. Walla! If you've used the stock speaker cabinet, try panning the mics just a bit (one left, one right) and pull the condenser 87 around.....a little back......that's it :hihi: Now to hate me even more  how bout changing the '57 to a ribbon 121. Nice. Think I'll make a preset :)

You suck! But seriously, I don't know why Orange stopped producing this amp... they don't make anything with a FAC or this style tone stack anymore, WTF??

come on i.k , rise and shine.. will today be the day? :)

Oh yeah, you'll find yourself putting the Ambass'dor in front of a lot of amps :) Quite the cool little pedal!

It's really a shame AT3 doesn't make me as good a player as "some" people on this thread :hihi: But it sure makes my average licks and fairly limited chord structures sound great!

Not a new amp, but the metal clean is a very nice. Maybe put a small phazer on it. Go ahead, play with the rate.....or, simply assign a midi controller to it (sweet new feature!! Swirly!

OK folks, I've been testing out the AmpliTube 3 prerelease, too.
I think Peter gave me a copy just so I'd stop asking him so many questions about it!

I'm quite impressed. What I'm most pleased about is actually the way the dullest old AmpliTube 2 amps that were held over from AmpliTube 1 really come to life now. The American Tube Clean 1 & 2 and the American Tube Vintage (Fenders all) are now on par with their AmpliTube Fender cousins. The difference from AT2 to AT3 is like night and day. For example, on a preset I had made for the American Tube Vintage, I had the PRESENCE turned up to 10 just to hear it in the mix. Now, to get it to sound roughly the same (but way more dynamic now) in AT3, I have to turn PRESENCE all the way down. That how different some of these older models are. The dullness is GONE. These things are lively!

But the biggest highlight for me is the Jazz Amp-120.
I own a vintage JC-120 of the same make that IK modeled. It's my main (real) amp, and I know its sound well. And unlike the meek little Naive Instruments model, IK pretty much nailed it dead on. Having my amp available to me in software form is worth the price of admission alone.

And I haven't even begun to scratch the surface. I just realized, I haven't even loaded up the Leslie yet! :-o

Oh I'm sorry, I'm not done yet

Maybe put a fuzz age two, and maybe a graphic q (you have two to choose from in the stomp section :D) Hmmmmm, not sure if the order is right. I think I'll just simply DRAG the eq to the first position (new feature alert!) Yeah, that works like a dream. (edited since it was directed at drooling vs crying. There's no crying in AT3) :hihi:

Peter, are your server ready for all the downloads that are going to happen really soon? (I'm such a snot)

That is good news. How about the Trace Eliot and Acoustic 360 models? I am hoping that together these three fill the gaps in the bass amp area.

Oh, the TE is great, but I kinda knew it would be. I haven't played as much with the acoustic. I had both a TE and the GK, so I kinda gravitated towards those. I'll play with the acoustic tomorrow.........so much to do......not enough hours :hihi:

Well, is today THE DAY?
