No kidding. I love the JCM800 model now. It is so dynamic now! And my personal fovorite, the JMP model, is even better.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:AT3 really is a ridiculous amount of fun. I just plugged in my Epi Les Paul with Gibson Classic Plus Pickups and was just jamming around with the JCM800 model and having a blast. It amazes me how much work went into tweaking the old models. There's huge improvements all around.
The original Vox sounds extra Voxy now too. You can really hear that Vox sound that had been missing in the AT2 version in it now. Real dynamic bite now, with newly sharpened teeth. All of these amps are sounding incredible now. And the flexibility provided by the new cab section is barely sinking in here. With dual cabs set to the same model, you could simulate 4 mics surrounding a cab, plus an additional stereo pair of room mics!
It used to be that AmpliTube 2 had 20,000 amp combinations.
Now with the free mic positioning in AmpliTube 3, the tone possibilities are literally infinite!

So we don't need to do those other models that have been confirmed or take any more suggestions? Party time after this is out!!!redshift factor wrote: It used to be that AmpliTube 2 had 20,000 amp combinations.

No! You still need to do those (and more! and more! and more!)
So I guess the tonal possibilities with new models would be infinity²!

I feel I must publicly disavow Redshift Factor's statement. The use of the word "infinite" was completely inappropriate in this context and it should never have been written. I only ask that he retract that comment, and publicly apologize to all those who may have been adversely effected by that statement. I would also ask IKMM, to ignore said statement and continue to model the other gear as planned. I hope that we can bridge this divide, unite, and move forward as musicians.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:So we don't need to do those other models that have been confirmed or take any more suggestions? EDIT: I see Redshift Factor has clarified his position. Thank you.

Do you not have enough work? Do you need work assigned to you?Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: I feel I must publicly disavow Redshift Factor's statement. Let the public flogging begin.
I only ask that in time the world may forgive me.

how about the new preset management with the ability to save info about your guitar and pickup selection with the preset? that's pretty nifty!

Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:I've just been playing with this bad boy, and it's officially AMAZING! The new AC30 is great and just growls like you wouldn't believe, while they even reworked the old AC30 to add some bite to that one too. The Orange just provides instant Black Sabbath (mmm Paranoid). The new Mesa Boogies are great, and the GK and Trace Elliott bass amps had me fooling around with my Jazz Bass for a while and sounded really good.
Out of the original AT2 amps, the Super Reverb, Dual Showman, AC30, and JCM800 all sound awesome (as in noticeable improvement). In fact, every one of the original amps I played just responded great, broke up in a really authentic way, and just overall sounded better.I also ended up rocking out on the red channel of the Triple Rectifier sim for a while.

So the old amps really are up to current specs now ?
That's the kind of report I want to hear.
If it's anything like the original it's amazing.hibidy wrote:Want more gain? Why not try the "ambassador"Sure, throw in on there. Put a bit of middle out of it, maybe turn the level down a pinch or two. Walla!
Got me an old DriveMaster recently, about the same but without the FX loop, and it can completely remove the bell-like character from a nice Fender amp and turn it into a dry, aggressive JMP, while not sounding like a pedal but absolutely tubelike - no wonder Gary Moore used these a lot during his "blues" era.
Looks like I'm getting more and more curious now ...

Got a copy of this in for review today. I have spent some quality time with it already but I want to spend more before I say too much on it. Initial impressions are very strongly positive. I love some of the new additions; I played for at least half an hour with the new resonance filter. I remember a similar filter used as a sort of sitar simulator in the Korg AX series of multieffects units, but this one is far more advanced than those units could do, and sounds much better. My wife was really enjoying the ambient textured sound that it gave, even though the guitar tone itself was distinctly high gain (using the new Mk. III model, which is great - if you're one of the lucky fellows on the short pre-release beta and you haven't yet given it a shot, I recommend spending some time with it; like the real deal, you may not get your tone at first, but it rewards learning how to adjust it with great sounds). I could get an almost cello-like sound using the Mk. III configured for a high gain, sustained lead tone, with the Res Filter's combination of sympathetic resonance and filters.
I'll be happy to fill any clip requests that people have, though of course Dimi's already on the job hopefully I can still contribute usefully. I'm no virtuoso like him, but I will be happy to do try to do something cool with the software if you're wondering about a particular aspect of it. I plan on doing some clips of the new effects and some other things that I worry will be overlooked given the focus a lot of people have on the new and improved amp models and the new, impressive room and cabinet modeling system. There's plenty of layers of cool stuff in the software
Let me know if there's anything you want to hear.
I'll be writing a review for FrugalGuitarist, very likely to be published Monday, and I always welcome input and requests from forum communities as to what things people are curious about with the software. I'll try to meet requests, and discuss notable features. Just let me know what you're curious about. I'll be covering it day to day on my blog, as well, in anticipation of the Frugal review, so keep an eye on it and drop me a note there if there's anything you're interested in me going in depth on.

It's the little things that are so well thought out. I don't remember the front interface having an on/off switch for the tuner, seems like a nice new feature to me. Maybe I'm just weird, but I really don't like having to mouse click tuner, and then mouse click to turn it on, and then mouse click again to get back to the main interface. Now, it's just off/on right there on the front page. Great to just check up on ye tuning!
Also, is it me or is the tuner less "stuttery" when using it?
