The typical OT romps, but not always completely unrelated.MOK19 wrote:Ya know, I think I'm a somewhat smart guy, but I had a bitch of a time following this thread. Particularly when you folks got so hung up on trying to sort reality according to a short, catchy phrase.![]()
I hate to ask for help on something so basic as reading comprehension, but you guys really seem to be on a wavelength that my radio isn't getting.
So on the assumption that any of this is relevant to the original topic, what in the hell are you all saying?
That help?

I may well be far off but I think there's is a question about whether or not a gang of audio hard asses like pudding, which developed into a question of what an audio hard ass is and who is in the gang (I suspect we shuld be looking for gang tags as well). But apparently it's similar to a brickwall limiter, which makes me wonder if the gang is daisy chained. I'm assuming the point is it sounds phat thoughMOK19 wrote:Ya know, I think I'm a somewhat smart guy, but I had a bitch of a time following this thread. I have not yet figured out what FL has to do with sweating one's ass off (it's a good host though) nor do I know if that's sweating an audio hard ass off or not. However it seems it keeps you thin all summer, and comes with a suana.
What this has to do with your original point is obvious is it not?

back from the pub and reading the rest of the thread and realized that is quite possibly the most pointless thread about nothing i've read on the internet in months. reading a thread about how much avatar sucks on the imdb.com forums has more rhyme and reason than this pile of shite.

no, you need to explain what you meant when you said i know about pudding, the only implication i can see is you think im fat.
otherwise it doesnt make sense.

This has to be the first time pudding and audio lard-ass have been showcased in the same thread...and completely OT.Chuck E. Jesus wrote:then he would have called you "audio lard-ass"...vurt wrote:being mean?

I had a good time reading this thread, and I even resisted the temptation to join the discussion (til now, obviously). The question raised by the OP can be answered with a simple yes or no, but as soon as you kick-start your noggin' to do some thinkin', you'll see it's not that simple; it is actually a topic worthy of some footnotes, sidearms, and even eventual dead-ends.ckatrun411 wrote:generalstargazer wrote:back from the pub and reading the rest of the thread and realized that is quite possibly the most pointless thread about nothing i've read on the internet in months. reading a thread about how much avatar sucks on the imdb.com forums has more rhyme and reason than this pile of shite.

I say if you've got some music, then put it out there. Some will love it, some will hate it, most will ignore it. So what? Isn't it worth it just for those who'll love it? And isn't the internet made for people who want to strut their stuff, even if it's rather feeble more often than naught? (et tu, general?)

I completely disagree, sure there are antics off topic that are not needed and we all have our share of those across the internet. There are some absurd statements made by the regular cast of characters, but there is also some interesting points of view in between that could prove beneficial for many.generalstargazer wrote:back from the pub and reading the rest of the thread and realized that is quite possibly the most pointless thread about nothing i've read on the internet in months. reading a thread about how much avatar sucks on the imdb.com forums has more rhyme and reason than this pile of shite.
But you know, the internet allows us to review posts, review what we say and analyze things in ways that physical conversations don't. In reading a thread it can seem that those tangents are a bigger deal than they are while in a face to face conversation the same tangents come and go more quickly but are not necessarily less common. This same conversation spoken would not span days, it would likely be under an hour.
Ironically this ties in well with the topic at hand, sometimes we can over analyze irrelevant negative points because they stand out more to us. It's easy to obsess over what we perceive as negative but the average listener might miss all together or perceive completely different than we expect. That is why I think music we may not think is good should be posted and why I use a "punch list" as I stated before as a guide. (sticking points that I look to see if people notice, some good some bad)
Your post here manages to generalize the thread as negative because that's all you're seeing, I could go through the whole thread and make a monster list of good points on the topic from both sides. We see and hear what we want, when we can review it over and over those things become larger and larger because its become the focal point of our observations..
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

"Back from the pub and reading" is your first mistake there. Given the lack of thoughtfulness in this particular post makes me wonder if you reading at all isn't *somewhat* problematic.generalstargazer wrote:back from the pub and reading the rest of the thread and realized that is quite possibly the most pointless thread about nothing i've read on the internet in months. reading a thread about how much avatar sucks on the imdb.com forums has more rhyme and reason than this pile of shite.
