Sophistry Presets in CronoX3

Is anyone having an issue with the Sophistry Presets sounding awful in CronoX3. I bought Sophistry as an instruments (rather than as a soundset). I installed the latest CronoX3, and used the load button on the instrument to navigate to the Sophistry folder and load up the Dramatic Preset in the Ambient - Human Dreams bank. When I hit a few notes, it sounds dull and lifeless.

I still have Sophistry installed, and this same preset sounds great when I use it.

I thought these things were pretty much the same under the hood, so I am perplexed.

I am not sure what the problem is, so I am hoping someone here can help out.

CronoX3 Sounds come out just fine.

Thanks.

OK, I found something. In the picture below, you see the Gen 1 & 2 screen. You can see that graphical representations of the sample file are different (same preset). In Sophistry it looks rich and full in CronoX3, it looks like a limp noodle.

I tried reinstalling Sophistry that didn't help.

I downloaded the Sophistry banks from the website, but apparently it requires something other than a Sophistry serial number to unlock it.

You can see it in full size at

Very interesting, thanx for sharing the problem, the bad thing is that i made all the presets in the CronoX3 engine so i'm really suprised about this bug... Hm...

Frank:

I am not sure what is going on. Maybe my install of CronoX3 is hosed, I am at a loss too. I am going to try to roll back my version of CronoX3 over the weekend and see what happens.

Have you tried to load the Sophistry presets in the latest version of CronoX3? If so, were you able to reproduce what I show in the pictures?

I wanted to check it out by myself but i didn't found a preset with the name "Dramatic" in the Ambient - Human Dreams folder...

There are 2 presets in the Ambient - Soundscapes folder...

OH wow - My Sophistry bank came right off of the DVD, version 3.08. I am at the shop right now. I will double check when I get home this evening.

I will keep this thread updated.

Ok, thanx. Please, re-check the broken patch, go to the mod page and take a look at row4 if i used a modulation there. Version 3.08 is still having a bug there, you can see that CronoX3.6 got a fix there....

OK, my CronoX version is 3.60

My Sophistry version is 3.08

It is CronoX v. 3.60 that is having the problem.

This thing is really starting suck.

Uninstalling and reinstalling did no good at all. I have the same waveform discrepancy that is seen in the pictures I provided.

To make matters worse. I re-downloaded CronoX3 3.60 update and the factory soundbank. Crono X3 installed just fine, but the factory soundbank now wants some kind of code other than the serial number. Of course, I was never sent this code, so now I can't reinstall it. I fired off a support ticket, but according to another post here, support is down while Peter is dealing with some stuff. So, any project that uses CronoX3 is dead in the water.

Argh.. Well, bad to hear... But, try this link, please ...

http://www.linplug.com/Support/Your_Lic ... censes.htm

You will get all the serial numbers mailed in a minute, maybe this helps...

But, you have bought Sophistry and if i remember right, Sopshistry's Library never used a PW to install it, just the player need a serial number. But i'm not sure at the moment, i installed the library years ago on my second mac.. :)

Peter is indeed out of the office till next week, i hope that you get all the serial numbers and passwords with the link above to finish your work...

You are correct. Sophistry does not require a PW for the library. I installed it just fine, I installed the CronoX3 instrument just fine, it is the Crono X3 factory library that is asking for the password. Used to, it was a part of the installer, but it has been split out.

Anyhow, I am hosed until their tech support guys can get to it.

Also, I am on a PC not a Mac

BTW Frank:

I should have said this earlier - thank you for trying to make this work. I appreciate the effort on your part. It is just a bad timing kind of thing more than anything else. The Sophistry presets are by far my favorites.

I am sure we will get it sorted.

OK, I requested the S/N as was suggested and in there I received a serial number for the Sophistry Soundset. So, I downloaded it from the web. The presets in this thing are different than what is on my DVD. :-o

Anyhow, I installed this library and the same thing happens, Sophistry plays them fine. CronoX 3.60 - no good.

It still has the waveform discrepancy too.

The only CronoX 3 serialnumber is the one I have, no code for the factory sound bank. I am downloading the single-file version instead of the split version and see if that version asks for the passcode that I don't have.

The format for the passcode is XXXXXX-XXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXX

I spent over a year (late '08 through Jan '10) in the hospital, maybe something came out during that time period that I missed.

I was also able to retrieve the CronoX3 presets from an image I made last night. So that is resolved too. 8)

In any case, this is most likely something Peter will have to sort. Unless, of course, some wayward soul has an epiphany and chooses to share it.
