...as far as I know plug and play midi devices should show up as "audio devices" in windows hardware device manager... I think there is something wrong.
Midi OX is a midi monitor and tool program you can analyze midi events and connect midi ports with.
You can download this here: http://www.midiox.com/

It's a freeware MIDI utility you can download. Google it and get it, because it's a good idea to try it here for trouble-shooting, and it is useful in many ways.jeff180 wrote:what is "midi ox"?
It will display all your installed ports by proper MIDI name. If MIDI Ox finds ports, then Cantabile is at fault, and you will know at least where to search further for the trouble. If MIDI Ox finds no ports, then they must (for some reason) not be installed properly.
All the small, cheap, generic MIDI USB interfaces of the type you bought are class compliant, by the way, so I stand by what I said earlier about that.
EDIT: Ooops. Sorry to duplicate so much of your post, TI.

Never mind, multiple explanations are always better than just one...lallis wrote:EDIT: Ooops. Sorry to duplicate so much of your post, TI.

i agree. solo works fantastic on my newer comp. i have also assinged a controller to change song lists, but when i do it, it keeps showing the "do you want to save changes" every time. would you know how i can go from song to song without this happening?

...think this is a faq...
The answer is already anywhere here in the forum... just can't find it... LOL
You can influence this behavior with the "Save Modified Sessions" option. I am just not aware if you need to change it in "Options" - "General" or "Options" - "Set Lists"... or maybe both.
Just Select "yes" or "No" there instead of "Prompt" which causes the dialog box to appear...
