Been experimenting... clicked around all the presets (I thought) - then I clicked the little button (at the top) that says PRESET BROWSER (or something) - seemed to load presets for 5 friggin' minutes and then I found 100's and HOLY MOTHER OF GAWD I found NIRVANA... try it. I don't remember all those in the menu's? TRY IT!

I will stick to the Orange for the next two weeks...
DnD of the stomps, midi learn, mic placement, the preset browser, quality of the gear (the Leslies, the Jazz Amp
), fair upgrade pricing and they even held the release date!
And much more important: thanks to Peters great work IK has a voice now. A year ago I posted about IK as having some great plug-ins without any support. That changed radically and it's good to see that. They are doing everything right at the moment.

Hi Peeps,
Well, First of all I'm impressed as hell with this piece of software, Just got my copy (as a birthday present!) installed and authorized, everything is great, JCM 800 is beyond imagination IMHO, very tight and gluey, beefy and tasty, Also that Orange Amp + Ambass'dor are working great together, Well I think IK applied the Fender's Advanced Algorithms to all the previous models in AT2 and while it works almost great on everything (Tighter and Beefier sound) but I think it changed something as well, For example I used to have a very Rounded Sound on both "American Tube Clean 1&2" in AT2 which is lost now, And if I remember right when Fender released Someone else also mentioned the same thing about the Fender amps that are tighter and the reason people and I think someone from IK (probably Squids) brought up was that IK modeled all the models in AT Fender from the current Fender Production line, they said the reason is that the current actual fender amps which IK modeled them sounds more tight and aggressive, In that time I could use the amps from both AT2 which were obviously more rounded and from AT Fender which are more Tight and aggressive, But now I have lost the Rounded sounds from Fender amps in AT2 which is not good IMHO.. Well I think they did a great job and maybe I'm wrong, But to my ears the Fender amps in AT2 does not have that Rounded sounds anymore.
Btw Sorry for my bad English

Hey not bad!
Here is a little Orange noodling, just amp, cab and UAD reverb.
(the AT3 Digital reverb is useless IMHO unless you do the stadium vibe)

Can't you just continue to use AT2 if that's the Fender sound you're looking for?Silenceborn wrote:Hi Peeps,

I have a question:
OK, so now Amplitube supports stereo routing, but do the effects accept stereo input? I mean, are they true stereo? For example, can I run a stereo electric piano track through the analog chorus in the rack and keep the original stereo information of the piano track without summing it first in mono? It seems to me that this is not possible.

I just spent a few hours trying out the demo, and it's definitely a nice improvement over version 2. The new preset manager was sorely needed and now I don't hate the GUI anymore, although I still don't like the tiered drop-down navigation since it's so tiny, but at least now I don't have to use it as much. The CPU load is a bit bit high on some, and I'm getting all kinds of crackles and pops using Line 6's ASIO, unless I use huge buffer and sample rate--but I think that's Line 6's problem since I get it when using even simple freeware amp sims inside of Chainer. I don't know what's causing it, and it was never this bad in the past. I even updated the Toneport UX2's driver and it didn't help.
I also like that it searches for other IK products and imports the presets, so you only need to open up Amplitube 3 and be able to access other products like AmpegSVX, Amplitube Metal...etc.
I haven't tried Guitar Rig 4 yet, and I'm looking foward to trying it and comparing it to Amplitube 3.

at peter:
does the package amplitube pedal (preordered) also gives the possibility to get a serial online or do i have to wait for the boxed version to authorize the demo?

I've spent the past couple of hours toying around with it and here are my impressions:
- It's a VAST improvement over AT2. The cab sounds are much more realistic. They blow GR4's much-hyped 'Control Room' feature out of the water IMO.
- All of the amps sound better IMO. More sparkly and they react much better to volume changes on the guitar. I especially like how much difference the master volume makes. The poweramp emulations are much more effective in this version.
- The effects sound (to me) much the same as in previous versions. I'm not a fan of IK's reverb and delay modules. However, the harmoniser is vastly improved. It tracks much better. It's not totally convincing but I think it's a lot better. The OD stomps aren't as good as Mokafix's IMO.
With all of this said, I prefer LePou's amp sims. They react better to playing dynamics and seem to have a high-end response that every other sim I've used doesn't have. I'm going to spend my cash on donating to LePou, Moka's stomps and some RedWirez impulses. I'm using Recabinet impulses and I get incredibly realistic sounds with LePou's plugs and freeware VST effects. My favourite amp sim ever is HyBrit and so far there has been nothing to change that.

BTW, I just downloaded the Podfarm Platinum 15-day trial for ilok, and I thought all the unlocked models for the platinum version would be killer, but they really don't make Podfarm all that much better--it's still the same sound, and the sound isn't as good as Amplitube 3. I think it's pretty easy to notice the difference.
The FX categories in Podfarm are mostly useless noise and not musical at all, while the ones in Amplitube 3 are much more musical and well-chosen.
The distortions and the extreme/hi-gain/metal stuff in Podfarm as also not nearly as visceral and full of balls. The platinum version of Podfarm includes all their model packs, which includes the metal pack, and it's not as muscular as Amplitube Metal.

I cannot agree more. To me LePou amp sims sound much much better than AT3 and so does Revalver III. I preordered AT3 because I really expected a step up, but although it sounds better than AT2 it isn't such a major step up. Still flubby loose low end which is to exaggerated and very unnatural break up. It cannot achieve punchy Marshall sounds, Plexi and JCM 800 doesnt sound even remotely close to the real thing. I on the other hand like the effects with the exception of delay, and also think that Cabinet module has a great workflow. AT3 has better overdriven and clean sounds than Overloud TH1, but in higain department it doesn't come close. Revalver still shines in all areas and so do LePou amp sims.crispsandwich wrote:I've spent the past couple of hours toying around with it and here are my impressions:

He could also run the AMP section from A2 into the Cab section from A3.heffus wrote:Can't you just continue to use AT2 if that's the Fender sound you're looking for?Silenceborn wrote:Hi Peeps,

There must be something to the LePou amp sims, since so many seem to like them, but the results I got trying them (mostly HyBrit) in tandem with Redwirez cab impulses just didn't excite me that much. I don't know if I was somehow not dialing them in right or if they're simply not to my taste.
I tried to demo Peavey Revalver, but that didn't turn out to be possible. Every time I tried to instantiate the demo in Reaper, it would get to the "authorize or run in demo mode" splash and completely lock up my computer, requiring a forced reboot.
