The Amplitube 3 upgrade cured 3 of the top 4 issues I had with X-Gear.

2.Addition of Click and Drag
3.Dynamic MIDI Learn
4.6db Gain drop on mono channels in Cubase
Intel Core2 Quad CPU + 4 GIG RAM

I play guitar and this is the best amp sim in my mind, whether for free or pay for play. I have Revalver, Le Pou , Acme, Line 6 , Gtr solo, GR4, and they all have great individual amp sims, the overall does not compare to AT3 in any of them. Pay Le Pou, darn right, he is doing some great Modeling., and his hybrit is absolutely awesome. Pay Peavey, well, they need something to get them to address anything, which they can't or won't, go to there forum you will see how they respond. :) Pay AT3, IF YOU LIKE A GREAT ALL AROUND SIM, YES. The cabinets and mics have taken most of my time , there is so much to be done there. First amp sim that I have seen that the cabs and mics are equally if not more important than the amp in getting the sound. I have enjoyed just using the room sound on it's own and they adjusting mic's and cabinet size with it.

For anyone interested, I've updated the gear section from the manual to show where each model originated from (AT2, Hendrix, Metal):

AmpliTube 3 gear list

The Fuzz Age pedals need fixing in your list. "Fuzz Age" (red) should be A2, and "Fuzz Age 2" (silver) should be JH.

"Crusher", "Diode Overdrive", "Compressor", "7 Band Graphic", "Envelope Filter", "LFO Filter" and "Wah" should all be A2.

Also, "Chorus" and "Flanger" should be A2 (actually, they date back to A1, as does Wah and Diode Overdrive.)

"Harmonator", "Pitch Shifter" and "Volume" should be A2 as well.

I don't remember all those in the menu's? TRY IT!
I haven't counted again, but last I heard it was somewhere right around 730 presets including the per-model presets! :-o

And much more important: thanks to Peters great work IK has a voice now. A year ago I posted about IK as having some great plug-ins without any support. That changed radically and it's good to see that. They are doing everything right at the moment.
The Orange model is wonderful for sure. I do hope you get to all the rest you mention, though. I pined for this Orange as soon as I heard it was going to be part of the deal, but once I got into all the other stuff I was like a kid in a candy store. I didn't expect the creative effects to have such an impact on me too. I guess even I had some bias/prejudice based on "my style" or whatever. Well FUNK THAT (again, trying to be good with the language haha). I was taken aback by the creative effects, and even then surprised by which of them grabbed me when I didn't expect certain creative effects to really get good use out of me. So even "on the inside" we've been floored by this. When we'd talk amongst ourselves while using it, the excitement was clear: "Did you try THIS one?" "That model sounds AMAZING!" "The Ambass'dor is something you HAVE to try in front of these amps!". So, you can see where the confidence in the quality came from.

Also, I'm glad the remastering is a big hit. I feel that we were really were a bit modest about that. Seems like people are hearing a pretty big difference. Makes sense, what with the greater cabs, room, mics, and laying all the cool new features on top of them.

And finally, a sheepish THANK YOU for those kind words at the end. Much appreciated. I am, like almost every single person in the company, just like the tagline says... a musician first. And this stuff excites me, so it makes it easy (as does having a quality bit of gear to be proud of) to be enthusiastic and helpful. I've been a fan for much longer than I've been with IK, so that helps too. It isn't all fun and games, of course, but I do like seeing my stepson walk by and say (for the umpteenth time) "I see you get to play guitar and Tweet for dollars, eh?" :D Obviously I am far from the only one committed to great support and keeping you guys pumped because it sounds great AND works well, the support team is doing a great job too and everybody was like a MACHINE at NAMM this year because we were all pumped and coordinated and knew how to talk about something we are excited about.

But I've got more questions and answers and such back in these threads so no more bit post for now :P

Here is a little Orange noodling, just amp, cab and UAD reverb.
(the AT3 Digital reverb is useless IMHO unless you do the stadium vibe)

Very nice! I love hearing that Orange, especially under others' fingers. Great to hear it react to different players. It really gets "personal" IMO.

OK, so now Amplitube supports stereo routing, but do the effects accept stereo input? I mean, are they true stereo? For example, can I run a stereo electric piano track through the analog chorus in the rack and keep the original stereo information of the piano track without summing it first in mono? It seems to me that this is not possible.
Yes, on the two stereo routings (2 and 6) you click the "MONO IN" to turn it to "STEREO IN" :) Works nicely.

does the package amplitube pedal (preordered) also gives the possibility to get a serial online or do i have to wait for the boxed version to authorize the demo?

You'll get the serial with your package. If you have information on the order and want to get an idea when it might get there so you can see if the demo will last long enough, log a support ticket and they can look that up or PM me your email address and IK User Name. If you ordered it from a dealer, they would know that of course, not us. But let me know. I want to see you able to play with this ASAP.

Nice and heavy! I love that. The way it opens up nicely in the middle is refreshing as a contrast and really moves it along. And of course - it sounds GREAT. :)

I then tweaked audio settings on my Stealth Pedal and it went haywire and crashed my computer and rebooted. But now I can't even get the standalone version to open back up. First thing I see is a Crash Report error box when trying to open standalone.
i had the same prob after changing audio settings too .
I got it working tho, try changing back to the setting you had before it went haywire using the asio/audio panel in ableton then try Amplitube again.
Also my default is 48000 sample rate and it doesn't seem to like that so i resorted to 44100. i'm on xp service pack 2
Could you guys log a support ticket or send me your email address and IK registered username via PM? I'd like to make sure we get problems like this sorted out quickly. I want this thing to run smooth as silk for everybody!

Thanks for the corrections! I was using the info from the manuals. New PDF has been uploaded.

But I just noticed now that there are no presets for the Vintage Metal Lead amp.
Are you finding factory presets that used to use it are missing? Let me know, thanks!

Works well as expected. All the IK products I have tried work in linux.
As for sound quality, the few dozen I played are really nice, showing off the
capabilities very well. After I found Fender was equal to, or better than Hendrix and Metal,
a surprise to me, at least, its nice to hear more fresh takes that make AV3 stand out as a separate high quality product.

And the gui is very nice on the eyes 8)
Linux, really? Nice! Now I know how to better answer this question that comes up :) Do you have any HOWTO or anything? Or do we "just work" (to borrow another company's phrase hehe). Thank you for the kind words about the improvements and the previous products too.
