One questione for the standalone version....
four tracks but no multithreading support?? :?: :?:
It is not incredible?? :?

Check if the Stars Spangled Banner 1-2 (Jimi Hendrix) presets work in your AT3. In my DAW anyway the presets open but after a couple of seconds stop working. In X-Gear/original Jimi platform these presets work fine.
Now it seems to me that IK has launched prematurely an incompleted product.

No problems here (in Sonar 8.5).

MP3 and WAV's loading fine just WMA's.
I am too. I can't get a single WMA to play. All other types load just fine. Why would IK release this CRAP?!??!

I'm kidding. I love it actually. Its extremely easy to get great tone relatively quickly. I spent hours on Friday/Saturday with it. My only complaint is the WMA thing.

Just a small thing with Preset Exchange (at least here on my Mac)
Obviously, I downloaded all of Dimi's brilliant presets, but here they all downloaded with the double extension ".at3p.ychat" (WTF? :hihi: ). I had to rename them all with simply ".at3p", in order to get them to show.
I did get a life,once...but it was faulty, so I sent it back.

I don't know if it was because I renamed those Preset Xchange files (didn't change anything else), but I cannot see anything from the following categories in the Browser (although they are all present in the menu at the top,"Click here to load a preset")..
Amplitube X-Gear
Ampeg SVX and Ampeg SVX Uno
Amplitube Fender

I have refreshed the browser (several times), but it is the same both in AT3 standalone and in the VST plugin.

Have I missed something/done something wrong?
Or can anyone please confirm that they are seeing presets from any of the above, in the Browser window? Thanks :)

Hey Susi, I was wondering when you'd chime in. I'm curious to hear your take on the whole package. I know sometimes we disagree (I thought the AT2 cabs were good and have only gotten better) but I always enjoy reading your takes on things.

Hi zerocrossing,
same here, I do value your opinion and others a lot, or else I wouldn't be here. Differing views are the best way of learning something for yourself ...
Sorry, I'm in the middle of a mastering session with clients atm, but starting tomorrow we'll have lots of chances for discussion !
First impressions lean on the very good to stunning side here. :tu:
Obviously depending a bit on models ...
A few little gripes here and there, nothing big afaics.

Did you get an answer yet? I haven't read to the end yet> Clix and pops are gonna be one of 2 things usually. Buffer too low or clocking issues.

For instance, on my G5, if I set the buffer at 64 it's a disaster. Make sure you're clocking your system from your A/D convertor. It has to be the master or you're toast. Again, on my system I use an L2 for my A/D and it functions as the master clock. If I set the clock to my Motu 424 card I get clix and pops ......... without fail.

Hope this helps.

Happened to me last night. Safari added an .xml to the file. What's worse is I deleted the extra suffix and it still read it as a Final Cut Pro file. Most annoying.

But a happy ending. Just used Firefox to download. No problems.

I'm starting to warm up to the Fender models a bit now. I'm not sure but I think I first heard those models in headphones. Not the best idea but I didn't want to drive the family completely nuts. In A2 they didn't sound that great and I didn't get much of a chance to demo "Fender" so my impressions are vague as to comparisons.

Will anyone with both like to throw out an opinion as to how Fender compares to the A3 models? I'm pretty intimate with Fenders, especially Twins. My only serious gripe is the beforemenentioned spring reverb. There are of course many solutions to that little problem but there is something elegant about having it right there in the amp model. (just like the real deal.

I don't want to post even this tiny niggle without restating how much I'm loving A3. I think this is a huge step forward for IK and amp modeling in general.

And now a modest request. I need a standalone solution for gigging and rehearsing./ There's no way that I can bring my bright, shiny new MBP to my gigs. There's no place to put it and there's no security. I believe the Stomp I/O still needs a computer right. Bummer. If IK doesn't come up with a solution for this I will be forced to go Axe/FX. (or I could just make do with my tele, Zen drive and Princeton ......... which sounds damn good, but where's the fun of that)

AT Fender just sounds more accurate overall IMO. The Bassman and Deluxe are two perfect examples. The ones in AT3 sound great, but the ones in AT Fender just sound more authentic. And there's nothing like the Twin and Vibroverb in Fender IMO. They sound great.

Overall, if you like the AT3 Fender amps you should definitely look at expanding them with Amplitube Fender. And don't get me wrong, the Super Reverb, and Dual Showman in AT3 are among my favorites so far, so I don't want people thinking they didn't do a good job on these. I'm just comparing the AT3 Deluxe, Bassman, and Twin to the Fender versions of the Deluxe, Bassman, and Twin.

OK, so I reported some problems a day ago. I found a solution and the product works perfectly now. I unplugged the IK Stealth Pedal I was using for my audio interface, and resorted back to my M-Audio Mobile Pre :?. Every single problem I previously had is gone now. :)

I use Live 6, win XP 32bit SP2, Pentium 4 core2duo with HT 3ghz, 4 gig ram

I get some lag when switching between stomp/amp/cab/rack sections and iniatialising the plug to bring the GUI backup. That can take a couple seconds.

AT3 was built with the same technology as Amplitube Fender (DSM 3). So if you're liking the way the AT3 amps are sounding you should like the Fenders Which were also heavily A/B'd throughout development. There's a video on youtube of IK showing the comparisons of a real Fender Twin and Amplitube Fender twin using the same mic, guitar and riff and its hardly distinguisable, you'd have to be very picky to say its not on the money.

The added advantage of using Fender package in AT3 is you now have all the revamped stomps, racks and the amazing cabinet module with the many micing combinations.

The only niggle I have with Fender and AT3 is the CPU power it takes to run, but then again i've been wanting to by a new laptop for ages. Now I have an excuse

As for live standalone. I currently use a Toshiba Laptop 1.6GHz with 4GB RAM at rehearsals. Trying to run complex rigs (dual rigs for example) or Amplitube fender does run the CPU to 50% - 60% (althoguh task manager says 30% - 40%). But thats with all over sampling or high mode in AT3.

I use it with the Stomp IO which is just amazing, the way you can set it up in different modes and things, adjust the input for strat or les paul in 2 seconds without hands. basically its a great bit of kit.

Once I get a new laptop (hopefully in March) I shall be taking Amplitube on the road full time. I'll carry a spare laptop or my old Zoom G7 for while just in case but to have such versitility and at the level of AT3 is unreal.

No more miking up or luggin several amps around :D
