Well I guess you haven't played in some of the clubs I have. Trust me .......... some people are not to be trusted. One morning we were loading out after a week long gig at a bar in Canada. There was maybe 6 of us in the band, all on stage or around the stage, engaged in various tasks. This one guy waited until just the right moment when no one was looking. He grabbed ONE tom and flew out the door (which was next to the stage) We thought........ what an idiot. We'd all seen him. But we couldn't reach him in time and he had an accomplice with a car just a few feet from the exit.deanx wrote: I guess it differs from venue to venue and the type of gig but I've never seen or had anyone jumping up on stage to try and steal something infront of an audience. You could always use a laptop lock and wrap it around something. may not be 100% secure but by the time someonse yanked it enough someone would have spotted the little theif.
He got away with it. Unbelievable!
Yes. Why would he go to all that trouble for one rack tom? I don't know, but I do know that the world has all kinds of people in it. I've got a few other stories too from playing in bar bands for more years than I care to admit. And ....... there is no way I'm leaving a laptop on a stage that is a couple of feet from a door, lock or no lock.
