Me like. After judging a few of these competitions and starting to analyze what it is I like about certain music, I think a lot of it comes down to if it stirs something, and this does, particularly the start. Nice sounds and production generally with depth and FX (both sounds and mix), but maybe slight deductions for thin overall sound, and the big second part or finale that was promised in the first never really came.
Thank you, V'ger! That's the review that is equal to my feelings at the time I put this track together. Hopes that end with nothing, tension that drives insane and never actually changes into something other than another bunch of useless hopes. Meanwhile the human shell seems calm. All you can do is observe from the bird's view and hope. That's the reason of the absence of big finale.
Gotta vote soon.

Oh, it could be referenced from 'Jonathan Livingston Seagull' where the end would be a lift from the start. :)

What you really got to watch out for is when it's time for the underwear..

I actually missed out on all the OSC after the very first one a year ago, and I just went back to listen to all the ones I missed out on, and you know what's really really strange to me? The ABSOLUTE BEST tracks are all the ones from the two Synth1 competitions, while the tracks in the other competitions were pretty weak in comparison. Why is that? Is it something inherent about Synth1? Why are the Synth1 competition tracks so much more musical and advanced in composition, arrangement, and sound design?

Post

Might be because people are more free to do choose tunes/genres with Synth1's variety of sound and not limited like some other synths. Also record number of entries this time.

Yeah, but it's not, as I haven't read it before. Maybe it's the time to do it now? :)

Cheers for the votes Hangglide ... great stuff! :)

.... now then .... hmmmm, I would love to do a countup, but our rebel friend abstractcats is still holding out in the hope he can submit 28 votes!

.. so I'll hold off a bit for now, and if there's no change when I get a bit of time to do a count, I'll just have to add everyone else votes and leave abstractcats' until he has edited.
