Rhino and Kore 2--Now solved!

I can't seem to get the new version of Rhino to appear in Kore 2 Software Edition. The old one had no trouble. Also, all of the "classic" Tick vst and vsti's DO appear in the plugin list. Rhino does not...I've tried rescanning several times.

Any Kore 2 users have the new Rhino appearing in the plugin list? Any suggestions?

EDIT: See the solution below.

hmmm - if you're on windows, you did copy the rhino dll into your plugins folder, right ?

I Have the same problem, Rhino does not show on Kore 2 (Full Version) but the other Big Tick pugins are showing, I even rescan the plugins on Kore, but It also happens to other plugins.

is this on Mac, or PC ?

Windows XP, I think some plugins crashes before Kore scans Rhino, I see some errors on some plugins before it scans Rhino, I'm trying to figure this out and I will let you know.

Thanks

I'm on a PC. Vita 32-bit.

It's definitely in the Vst folder with all the others. Kore 2 attempts to scan it as it does its plugin scan...it pauses for a few seconds on Rhino2.dll...and then keeps on going. But it never shows up in the list.

If I'm not mistaken, it's the only plugin in my overcrowded vst folder that doesn't show up in the Kore list. There are some in my master list that don't actually work in Kore, but they do show up in the list....so I'm not sure what the problem might be.

Kore doesn't give any sort of messsage or warning about it....it just goes past it and doesn't put it in the list.

I realize that isn't much to go on. I'm pretty sure that you can scan plugins using the Kore 2 software demo....so perhaps you could use that to test it out?

Well I installed Kore2 demo. Put rhino2.dll in C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins. Ran Kore standalone.... it takes about 10 seconds to scan rhino2.dll... and then Rhino shows up fine in Kore, see screenshot below.

So I don't really know what's going on there. I tried it with an unregistered Rhino and it works just as well. The only difference would be that I use XP instead of Vista, but I doubt this makes a difference.

Wouldn't Kore provide a log of his plugin scanning attempts ? And, ahem, can the NI technical support help ?

I got it to work. I got from user EW on another thread.

I went to Documents and Settings\*my user account*\Local Settings\Application Data\Native Instruments\Kore 2\Database Cache. Search for "rhino2.dll.RNB4" and deleted the file. Then I restarted Kore 2 and now it shows on Kore plugin list.

Weird. Anyway, I'm glad it works now. Enjoy the Rhino ! :)

Rhino was not the only one, looks like it happens sometimes after some plugins are updated, Kore creates this file after scanning the VSTplugin folder, the Rhino2 file I deleted was dated 01/19.

Thanks
Alex.

Cool....that's an easy fix. I won't be able to try it until I get home, but if it works for alex, it'll probably work for me.

I'll report back when I know for sure.

Thanks 'Tick for the effort and alex for the info.

It worked for me as well!

So, no problems here now. Thanks 'Tick and Alex (and indirectly, EW).
