I mean: In previous versions (and other software), when you have selected a pencil tool, you cannot make selections <-> pencil draws. You have to switch to the arrow tool. Then you can make selections. Then if you want to draw notes again you have to switch to the pencil again. This tool switching all the time is something tedious, imho. That's why i invested a lot of time in looking for a system that can do it all in a fast and flexible way. (Thanks again to everyone who joined the chat on this some time ago) I think the current system is lovely. At the same time i stay open for criticism. Of course one has to realize that there is only a limited amount of 'computer controllers' (1 keyboard, 1 mouse, 3 modifiers) to do it all, and so not everything is possible. It's a matter of getting the best out of the available controllers.MachFront wrote:Errmm...I know you're probably asking something quite simple, but I don't follow.mutools wrote:1) If you would have a 'fixed' pencil cursor, then how to select parts/notes?
I'm using (music) software for a longer time now, and am very happy with the current tool system, very pleasant, right-brainish i.e. i don't have to think about it, and even that's more worth than the -maybe- little extra fysical effort to do a double-click or hold [Ctrl], imho.
