Thought I should mention it:
I'm NOT a hater or anything, I was never a Crysonic customer as no Crysonic plugin ever hit me with this "can't live without it"-feeling (you all know this feeling).
And I have been observing the currently "rather negative mood" towards Crysonic, so I doubt that I ever will be a Crysonic customer.
Besides: no native versions, no iLok option... no convincing arguments of "professionalism" IMO.
But this post was SO flooded with inconsistencies and contrariness that I couldn't help a little ranting...

And he didn't offer excuses. An apology is not an excuse. Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the terms here?caleb82 wrote:vs.Crysonic Jay wrote:(...)the purpose of this thread is to offer a (...) apology(...)Crysonic Jay wrote:(...)We are not offering excuses(...)
?? Whats is the problem here? You can't be serious about what you do and also enjoy it?caleb82 wrote:vs.Crysonic Jay wrote:(...)formal(...)Crysonic Jay wrote:(...)because we love this stuff(...)
Look man, there's a *ton* of reasons to bash these guys, its all out in the air here. There's no need to make up reasons. The reason I bought the plugs I have from a third party is because I didn't want to give Crysonic any of my money. I've heard terrible things about them here. Attacking remarks like this is just petty, you're better off looking for quotes from users who complained and support people who insulted them. I have no doubt there is plenty of both out there, but please, don't weaken a valid argument by presenting bad evidence.
I'm not attacking you here, I can understand how words can be construed when coming from a maligned party. All I'm saying is take a step back and think about this, even bad guys say good things sometimes, and attacking the good things they say distracts from the real problems.

Absolutely, and fair enough.caleb82 wrote:Thought I should mention it:

I don't know how anything you quoted was a contradiction. Maybe it was just his choice of words that bothered you, but I'm not sure why. Honestly, I read your post and kept thinking "what the heck is his point?"But this post was SO flooded with inconsistencies and contrariness that I couldn't help a little ranting...
Sure, you could pick apart word for word most posts here on KVR and probably find inconsistencies. But that's a little bit "reaching", don't you think?

In this "formal" post, there were several phrasings that "struck me as being odd". A "formal" post should've been better thought-through and checked for these "oddities" more thoroughly.
[edit]
Or let's put it like this: a serious company would not have let a letter of exc... i mean apology (sorry 'bout that*) out into public. Just my $0.02 on the debate about whether they're a pretending one-man-screwup or a really (more or less) organized commercial establishment.
[/edit]
An "apology" is very much of an "excuse".
A "formal apology" is something different, I am well aware of that.
As the thread is titled "Crysonic Apology" and not "Crysonic Formal Apology", I conclude that the phrase "formal apology" in the first lines of the post relates to "an apology written in a formal way", and not to the true meaning of "formal apology".
...but maybe you are unfamiliar with the terms here.

You actually reminded me of an old lady I met who once stayed up late to watch some TV show she would never normlly watch just so she could write a letter to the station about how offensive it was to her...caleb82 wrote:Thought I should mention it:

The X-Files, the "twin-towers" issue, Newtonian mechanics, Alice in Wonderland... all full of "inconsistencies and contrariness", why don't you pull THEM apart while you're at it Einstein.
Wouldn't you be better off just writing music or something?

No, it was a formal APOLOGY, not a formal post. Not everyone speaks fluent English or has the same grammar skills. There were no contradictions in anything you quoted.caleb82 wrote:In this "formal" post, there were several phrasings that "struck me as being odd". What? No it's not. How do even get that an apology and an excuse are the same thing? Go check the definitions. Nowhere do they match. Where did you even get this idea?An "apology" is very much of an "excuse".
Actually, it seems you are not quite familiar with the terms here. I think you are reading way too far into individual words when there is no reason to.A "formal apology" is something different, I am well aware of that.

Go look up the word "formal". There are a lot of uses for the term. I don't know where you got the idea that "formal apology" meant that it had to be written in a "formal" way. And how you define "formal way" is also questionable.
But honestly, you are creating problems where there are none.

What in the Name of Christ has this rubbish got to do with 'Topic: Crysonic Apology by Jay Brenton'? Go see a therapist or take some tablets/English Grinds/Legal Studies Course or something!
Jay is well capable of Directing his own Thread.

There is no need to squabble about semantics, this is certainly an official apology and we are very serious about it.

Everyone deserves a second chance and this apology is a good start albeit considerably late. What needs to happen now is for Jay to keep up communication and continue to work on fixing past issues and gaining some trust. I'll not likely purchase anything from Crysonic but I'm willing to let them have a second chance if they are indeed sincere.

With all due respect Jay there are alot of other developers who's products are also priced within the same margin as yours; they have shown far more commitment to the products they sell and I think more importantly the people who SUPPORT them.
I will never buy a product from Crysonic, there are too many alternatives that show better future prospects for product and customer.
my 2 pence do what you will with it.

They certainly can deliver good support, I've only had one issue with their plug-ins (due to myself running an older system) and they replied quick and friendly, and most important; they directly gave a working solution for the problem.
