Well it must be for newer products as mine was a simple install in vstplugins folder of choice.
Could this be the reason?

(edit - reply is to nigel_khan)
Wierd, this is what I got:
SINDO V3.5 requires a one time activation, Activating SINDO V3.5 is extremely simple! After Downloading the full version please install the product. The first time SINDO V3 is loaded in any host both Mac and PC you will be provided with a serial number, just click and copy this number exactly and e-mail it to info <at> crysonic.com and we will provide you the code to activate. After receiving your activation code please copy it and paste it in to the Activation number field of Sindo V3. In some hosts you would need to right-click on the activation field and choose paste. This is a one time only activation and your host / music computer does not require an internet connection. If you have upgraded from V3, you do not need to re-activate Sindo V3.5, Thanks again!
I don't own SPECTRALIVE V3, so maybe the security is different?

I don't think so I got the reply
Crysonic Email wrote:Please Copy and Paste the following Activation Key to Activate Spectralive NXT V3.5 , Please Keep this number in a secure place, if you make any hardware configuration changes later your software activation may fail, in that case please contact us to re-activate. Thanks again.

That's why I'm not bothering with the offer.

Either way, more ambiguity from them is not what I want.
I miss MindPrint. My TRIO needs a big brother.

I've not owned the product I asked for, so it can't be this. I still think it depends on the product or perhaps the version of it.

nigel_khan: Ah, now I did get that message about hardware changes in the actual Activation email. Hmm... I'll try it on my home PC tonight and see if it's actually hardware locked. Or whether the email is just inaccurate.

Not exactly ambiguity though, is it -- just different copy protection on some products.

OK, inconsistency. I thought we got off the semantics train.

Whoa, dude, I love that train.

I would just like to chime in that I've only recently purchased Crysonic products and I am happy that they let me have a free plugin as part of this promotion.

It's very rare for any software company to make a public apology of this nature and it is a good thing to see. At least they are making the effort to engage and make a fresh start.

Even if you are still unhappy, at least you have the option of a free plugin. Isn't that a good thing?

PS. Yes, I am easily bought! :D

I've emailed them about my old Spectralive NXT 1.0 license, available only for PC, and they have sent me the last one version, v3.5, available also for OSX (my need), free of charge.

I was tired in the past (about 2006) by some bad things, but as they tried this move I hope that their business methods will change soon.
So, at least from me they have another chance.

Renewed credit to them.

Just received a free SINDO V3.5!
Thanks Crysonic!

Unfortunately, it did.
Even still found mail backups on my HDD.

I thought the deal was for "previous" customers only. So it is indeed "damadge control" and IMO yet more fishing for users.

This makes me sad.
Especially after reading this:
phankiejankie wrote:I bought the cryMastering Bundle back in 2007. Yesterday after reading this thread I emailed Crysonic support and today I got my free SPECTRALIVE NXT V3.5 as requested.
It still looks like the old "promise" doesn't count, but the new deal only.

Then again, people are satisfied. Just wondering though.

Completely agree. It's embarrassing to read the pointless, picky posts in response.
holy shit +1!

ironically, even with all the 'rehashing' of the legitimate issues, this thread doesnt make Crysonic look too bad when compared with how the KVR community is lynching them.

this thread has been derailed from page one.
from the looks of it, by people who either have no stake, or have said they are moving on.

its a business, not highschool.
