Retro Soul and Ring Beat are listed as two different kits but from the first IP GB I remember these being the same kit
Isn't Ring Beat the "Soul" kit?

They weren't the same kit in the first GB. But anyway they're also not the same kit now! The RingBeat kit is a kit in the style of The Beatles/Ringo. So, it's a 60's Black Oyster Pearl Downbeat kit - Ludwig. The Retro Soul kit is a Gretsch I believe (I'd have to look it up) and sounds very different! Some really nice choices on these freebies. Hope you like having 10 to choose from!blueman wrote:Retro Soul and Ring Beat are listed as two different kits but from the first IP GB I remember these being the same kitIsn't Ring Beat the "Soul" kit?

DM1 Gold to DM2 Gold plus fee for additional material (signature kits) > upgrade pricing?

Just wanted to say thanks to Jarrydee for the helpful information on the edrums!
I'm looking into pricing and talking with wife about budget, but they are sounding pretty darn good.

Excellent. Thank you.Squids wrote:All the upgrade pricing will be available very soon.
I am just setting up a new workflow using Bidule alongside my DAW. I want to get all these drums soon so that I can go through them carefully and choose all the very best kit pieces for my style of music so that I can have them pre-loaded in my Bidule template and ready for use in any song project. I know for sure that a number of my go-to kit pieces will be from this set and ones from the previous GB.

I have the free Kontakt 4.05 installed, do I have any reason to install the
"Infinite Player" 4.05 version to run Drum Masters or can I just run it on the Kontakt player? I have stuff from the first GB and I'm considering getting into this one.

You will need the Infinite Player to use the GB (and I assume the Drum Masters) kits.A.M. Gold wrote:I have the free Kontakt 4.05 installed, do I have any reason to install the

If you already have Infinite Player from the previous group buy (or from any other SR purchase that came with it) then there is no "new version" of Infinite Player really. Once you have it licensed you're good to go using it within all versions of Kontakt or Kontakt Player. So no need to "update" the Infinite Player part except for the sound content you're adding when you expand your library with new stuff like this Group Buy Sequel.A.M. For those that do NOT already own the Infinite Player though... they WOULD have to have authorized the Infinite Player at least once to be able to use these or any Infinite Player-based sounds within Kontakt or Kontakt Player. Fortunately, that now comes FREE as an option in this group buy!

So no advantage in going to the Kontakt 4 based Infinite Player? I have the K2 based IP installed now.
I believe Allen advised me to update the IP content installer. Should I do that?

There is not only no advantage to going to the Kontakt 4 based Infinite Player but there actually is no Kontakt 4-based Infinite Player. All the Infinite Player is is a library gateway within Kontakt to play our sounds. The elements that give its face are in the Studio ProFiles Infinite Player Info.nkx file (which updates with each new library you add... and the latest one is free to ALL Infinite Player users - this is the file that contains the latest graphics). The ONLY difference previous Infinite Players and the latest is if it was bundled with anything. The "old Infinite Player" installer automatically installed Kontakt Player 2. So, obviously when we moved away from KP2 we didn't want an installer unnecessarily installing it. That's when we had NI separate it so it JUST installed Infinite Player.A.M. Actually, now it is not even necessary to run an installer. You can simply use the "Add Library" features of Kontakt 4 and browse to it. It should see that you are ALREADY authorized (once you authorize Infinite Player you're good to go for the infinite expansion with Sonic Reality stuff - even if you bought the very first Infinite Player-based product... you don't have to get it again! Just add the sounds).
You WILL want to make sure you have the latest Infinite Library Installer (for the sound libraries) but if you were in the last group buy then this hasn't changed and probably won't need to for a while. The only reason it changed at all was because the previous version didn't "over-write" the way we wanted it to. This is our own custom applet that we had built for us (Not an NI thing, so we're the only sound company that has this drag and drop sound installer for our Kontakt libs I believe). The latest version should do the trick for a while.
By the way... there's a LOT of Infinite Player libraries coming! Not just drums. Trons, World Instruments, Percussion... all kinds of cool stuff and it is weeks away or less.

I really need a better go-to piano that is in a Beatle vein (and more detailed than my regular SampleTank pianos). Any chance those new keyboards you did with Ken Scott are among the libraries soon to be released?Squids wrote:By the way... there's a LOT of Infinite Player libraries coming! Not just drums. 300+ people have already joined the Group Buy. It means that the lowest price trier has been reached. $99 is the current price. However, there are some extras to be earned. Next target level is 300.
