That's a pretty good description yesabstractcats wrote:are they languages with in one language?
One of my favorite languages, though. Have you ever heard any song in Gaelic? Absolute, pure beauty!Mac of BIOnighT wrote:OMG! I've seen some Gaelic righting and that one looks like a hard one as well.

Xenobioz, mrblitz000, it's amazing that you can even approach oriental languages at all
I've managed to learn a few katakana symbols (Japanese) and a handful of words and just doing that drove me up the wall!
However, it's not a "united" language, as there's a sign language for every "spoken" language, so it's really the same thing
Too bad...
That's what all Italians say - guess which language they suggest it should be?V'ger wrote: My vote goes for a single world language, end of story (let all others wither),
I was kind of hoping that'd be "to put an end to all wars"V'ger wrote:and one of my plans for getting the peace prize is to unify and promote as obligatory a sign language for all the people of the world.
I agree, it's beautiful to look at! I remember two or three guys who used to be on the bus I travelled on years ago, they were just extraordinary! I really enjoyed looking at them (trying not to stare at them impolitely, though, which wasn't easy - I was so fascinated that I just got lost into watching!).V'ger wrote:If there ever was a language I would like to learn now it would be sign language. It looks so cool when 'fluent speakers' talk fast.

Agree. One of my all time fav tunes is in Gaelic:Mac of BIOnighT wrote:One of my favorite languages, though. Have you ever heard any song in Gaelic? Absolute, pure beauty!

Nah that would never get you the peace prize. Too old-fashioned. You must use doublethink in today's world. War is good. War is peace. Defense is offense. See how it works?Mac of BIOnighT wrote:I was kind of hoping that'd be "to put an end to all wars"V'ger wrote:and one of my plans for getting the peace prize is to unify and promote as obligatory a sign language for all the people of the world.
Yes bizarre but that's what I want to change, as with oral languages. For unification.Mac of BIOnighT wrote: However, it's not a "united" language, as there's a sign language for every "spoken" language, so it's really the same thing![]()

Yeah, I forget about those goofy files they have on that site so try this

and

I've had an email from Micheal Gira's record company site saying that he is "re activating" Swan and I remember from there tour info back in the late 90's that they did play some show in Italy so if you end up like there music you should watch for them in the coming years.I know there will be an album out some time this year.

I do like some Clannad. I think they have a sister who sings and plays synths and piano a little, but I don't think she ever got far in the music worldtattiemannie wrote:Clannad = Irish Gaelic .... a bit different from Scots gaelic....there's better stuff than Clannad though ...

I've been going around the house with a violin bow over the past couple of days and bowing things!! ... wine glasses, empty food cans, furniture .... with mixed results!! .. but recorded some bowed saucepan lids on the soundtrack!! ... very nice!
.... Do i feel a one-bow-challenge coming on?? ...

Swans sound nice
Not entirely my cup of tea (mainly because of the voice, I think), but the music has got a prog-rockish feel that makes it nicely trippy
Runrig - didn't know them - cool
There's better than Clannad, agreed, but Harry's Game is still one of the most beautiful tracks ever
I must say, however, that I generally prefer a more traditional sound, when it comes to Celtic music. (funny, I've been trying to find something by any of the many Italian Celtic music bands, but I've found nothing either on youtube or anyplace else... if I find something, I'll link it)

Now you went and ruined it..tattiemannie wrote:Anyway, back on topic ...
Nah, grats on finishing the soundtrack recordings, and about Runrig they are not bad at all. Scots and Irish always seem to have strong melodies which appeal to me.
But I've come to the point now where I actually prefer not to listen and even understand lyrics anymore as most are not very good so songs in a foreign languages are all good, except some languages that just doesn't fit so well for singing (yes Finnish is one..

Makes me pretty damn ashamed of myself - having come in only 9th and all - but I'd get it with a big thanks... except that I can't find any info about it to help me understand if it'll work on my less-than-superpowerful system and what it is exactly...tattiemannie wrote:Anyway, back on topic ... still waiting to hear from Kaiyoti re prize, and mac, while I'm here, whatever kaiyoti chooses, you will be offered Supercore ... so if you want to accept that here and now, then just say so and contact karmacomposer
Sorry, but that will have to wait till we're finished with the One-Eggslicer-Challengetattiemannie wrote:Do i feel a one-bow-challenge coming on?? ...
