Is it possible or are there plans to make the Electron X-Y Controller assignable to Midi CC? It would be useful to be able to control the X-Y pad via
keyboard sliders or perhaps a joystick! :)

I read the Midi Control implementation chart, and realize that individual parameters can be assigned.
However, I was thinking more in terms of replacing the mouse control with a joystick or keyboard sliders.

I'm guessing that you'd like a pair of CC controllers that will control whatever is selected on the X-Y pad, is that right? I'm sure we could do that.

However, if you do select a parameter onto the X-Y pad it will still respond to its default CC controller, so you could muck about slightly and do it that way.

There is a joystick->MIDI CC program, I think it was written by vellocet and is called Midijoy. Definately worth a google.

Hope this helps

Pretty much what I was thinking. As limited as that might be, using two sliders on the keyboard would be easier than using the mouse.

Just had a thought. Doesn't MS XP have an Accessability option to make the mouse 'sticky' for drag and drop? That might make the mouse somewhat easier for X-Y control as you wouldn't have to hold down a mouse button.

Thanks for the tip. Only trouble is, my Audiophile 24/96 card doesn't have a joystick port. Don't really want to use up a pci slot by re-installing the old SB Live card.
Hope this helps
It gives me something to get strted on, thanks Dave. :)

USB joystick? These are cheap and plentyful these days. Assuming MIDIJOY looks at the windows drivers and not directly at the old joystick (MIDI) ports on older soundcards, it should work fine.

I'd say that I'd test it, but I would have forgotten by the time I get home. If I remember and get the time, I will test.

Me again

MIDIJOY is also an Atari program for generating MIDI data with the mouse and joystick, so don't get it confused with the MIDIJOY that Dave mentioned!

Had a look, downloaded and will try to test soon.

Best regards,

Dave, it would be blinding if these CC's could be definable - Kaoss Pad owners would rejoyce! (ie: me)
