Susiwong is right on about this.
Design changes introduce subtle (and not so subtle) differences along the way, and these differences are cumulative over time as more changes are introduced.

There is a reason IK Multimedia has sought out classic amps from the "right" years. Not just any AC30 would do, for example. But when it comes to Hiwatts, they are made by hand exactly as they were 45 years ago. IK could use a new Custom 100 or a vintage one, and the only difference would be the tarnish.
And I bet they could even model that.

Yeah susiwong,

there are a lot of poor examples. And then it's easy to think that the pcbs f**ked that up. That's what some boutique guys wanna tell us. :D

Right.
It's not about vintage or legendary, it's about different construction combined with the unholy desire to cut costs.
I don't see any reason why you couldn't do a worthy reissue on PCB, but it probably would be a lot more expensive, which kind of defies the purpose.
The good news for us is you can still get a real PTP amp s/h cheaper than its reissue would cost new, if you can live with a few cosmetic flaws, some marginal modifications or a slightly less collectable series, easy choice if you ask me.

What about more of our "rolling our own" effects and such? Seems like that lost steam a little but there are definitely some things that could be done that really just don't exist at all.

I've posted this before, but I'd love to hear what you guys would do with a multiband distortion ala Ohmicide or a Korg 9-11 style guitar synth effect. While you're at it, what about a killer ring modulator?

a ring modulator that can track pitch a little bit like the line 6 stuff but better achieved !

I would like to see some stuff that is a bit more experimental but easy to grasp. Like a stepsequencer that can modulate any parameter in A3. And an envelope detector which has an output that can modulate every parameter in A3. Sorry if I possibly missed them if they are in there already but my demo period ran out. :D

For more normal stuff I would appreciate all kinda good sounding fx. thick fat choruses, lush flangers, crazy overdrives and distortions from mild to wild. Tape echo. Modern amps that do sound as if they are classics. Like combining classic characteristics in one amp. Or things like an attack knob on an amp that changes the feel of the attack in a drastic way. Like from a muddy old scholl kitten to a metal monster with mega chugga. And everything in between. OK, I stop for now.
Will you do these things? 8)

What is the CPU usage like? It says it has 3 modes. Anyone has % comparison of these modes?

And most importantly: Why is there no introductory special deal/offer?!! :x :x
Cowbells!

how about the inclusion of the basic t-racks 3 for rack effects

I dunno about the intro price, but the 3 modes are not the only way to control what you want on and off. There are many aspects that can be changed in the preferences regardless of the hi/med/economy buttons. With everything on it can be cpu challenged depending on your system but it isn't anything more than fender or GR4 wouldn't do. (at least on my system).

I would highly suggest downloading the demo and checking it out. It last for 10 days to see

I have only tried the demo so far but I think it's absolutely fantastic. Will definitely get this as soon as my economy allows it.

I'm all for more amps and cabs but for me it's almost already too much to get a grasp on.
What I'd really like to see is more strangeness. Stuff that doesn't really exist but new creative ideas to mess with the sound.

The one hardware thing that I lust for is an Eventide Pitchfactor: http://www.eventide.com/AudioDivision/P ... actor.aspx
Some of the effects there are probaly easy to get close to with existing Amplitube 3, but the arpeggiator function for example sounds really cool. Like how he plays here: http://pitchfork.com/tv/#/episode/2080-atlas-sound
I would love to get something like that in Amplitube 3. Or is it already possible, have I missed something?

I don't know if it's a good idea but in theory some kind of randomize function would be interesting. Amblitube builds a rig for you with strange combinations of pedals and amps that you would never have thought of yourself. Maybe it will mostly sound just bad but it could be fun to mess around with..

Also, I think the preset system is great, but a few small additions would make it even better:
1. That you could use the scrollwheel for browsing down the presets.
2. That you could right-click on any field and change the info from there, like keywords for example, that you often come up with as you play them.
3.An Itunes-style search where you could just enter a letter or two and the list automatically scrolls down to all the presets starting with m or my (useful when you know a preset name or the first letter and want to get to it quickly. I know you can do this sort of in the search field but as you often sit with your guitar in your lap the combination of 1. and 3. would make it a little bit easier to get to where you want with one hand.

Just very minor suggestions for a great product.

1. It will work on PC next update (was already working on Mac versions)
2. Good idea, I will forward it on
3. This is not too far from how it works now, though you get the presets that start with AND contain the letters you type so I can see your point.
