Would you want good Notation capabilities in Ableton Live 9?

I'd love it...but I don't think they need to try new things until we get all the problems fixed in ableton 8
Unless we all get free unpgrades
It does not seem that many of the users are serious musicians so I don't know about the majority of the community.
no purchase until everything goes to usb 3.0 and all hosts are 64 bit!

What I really want is an "EDIT" button for MIDI clips that matches the one for audio clips. Just as the Audio Clip Edit button opens up the clip within a designated Wave Editor, so the MIDI Clip Edit button would open up the MIDI clip in a notation or other programme of your choice. That would be awesome.
Having said that, the current trend is for notation programmes to become rewire slaves - Sibelius and Notion are both there... not sure if Finale has caught up on this yet. But I think this perhaps negates the need for notation in any DAW...?

The continued inability to record automation for plugins in session view is the biggest problem they need to address imho. Until they do that it has no interest for me.

Live is never going to be a serious DAW - its not supposed to be

All I want is stability. I think they could do something to sort out the Library too.
This is the same method MJ used when he was working on Anthony Marinelli's Thriller.

Live just isn't that kind of 'DAW'
Live is more an instrument to me and a DJ tool. I can't see notation having any meaningful role in any of that. No one in his right mind would use it to score a movie or anything else.

why? Ableton certainly charge full daw prices then some.

I doubt many write music in wavelab, I would bet ableton
consider live as a daw.
Anyway no I don't think live needs score, it needs clip automation, a scene sequencer,
vertical zoom in arrange, advanced midi editing, instruments included as
standard like every other major host.
Maybe add score in 2018

I own Cubase, Logic and Live and the only one I use is Live. It's my Digital Audio 'Workhorse'
The only things I want in Live 9 are...
1. Pitch Manipulation - correction and repitching - Like a simple integrated melodyne.
The timestreching tools can get so creative when abused - I'd love the ability to mess with pitch more.
2. A way to reorganise all my AUs into meaningful folders like 'compressors', 'EQs', 'synths', etc.
3. MP3 export!
Then I will be happy

If you know anything about Live, the company and the ethos behind its development you would understand why this quetsion is laughable to a lot of people Lol
