For massive comes also something new

D-Cam, Massive and Blofeld/Largo will earliest coming out mid of april. So if you can't wait choice one for the current "Futured"-sets for the Massive.

Sorry.. Ingonator.. You choose the Blofeld

But, Cyforce's sound seems like Massive.. Rob-Lee sound is more easy to know Blofeld sound. Anyway I can understand Blofeld sound now. It seems like Crystal.

and Largo seems more havey sound.

Me too, especially since i have big problems running the Waldorf Edition LE (is on the Largo CD) on Windows 7...

conclusion: Largo + PPG Wave 3.V (+ Virus TI) = wavetable heaven.

PS: At the moment i play around with the new patches from the Virus TI OS4. The combination of the wavetables and the new Comb filter is really crazy IMO.

The addition of a compressor and an EQ (my favorite Stillwell ones...) make the sound even better.

Are you kidding? The Virus TI OSC's could do VA (with wave morph), single cycle waves, wavetable scanning (100 wavetables !!!), hypersaw, wavetable PWM and granular/formant synthesis using the wavetables.
Add a huge load of FX plus the new Comb + Vowel filters and you're done. With OS4 you could use the Arp/sequencer as a modulation source. Some demo patches for OS 4.0 use this for the modulation of the wavetable index !!

Before i forget. The Virus TI desktop (don't know about the Snow) has 30 x 128 = 3840 !! memory locations and around 1408 could be overwritten, either directly (4 banks) or with a special program from Access. When using the plugin the amount of memory is almost unlimited since it could directly add the patches from the soundbank files to the browser. And at the moment around 7000+ patches are available for free, either as factory sounds or as a download (including e.g. a small set directly from Depeche Mode !).

Of course Synthmaster 2.1 will be a milestone but it will be always difficult to compare to the Virus, especially because Access adds new stunning features with every major update.

The Virus TI could be fully used as a vst plugin but it will be difficult to publish a demo version. The only thing you could do is to try it in a shop.

UPDATE:

The new update OS4 for the Virus TI seemed not "too big" at the first look but the results are mindblowing IMHO. The new distortion effeects add some nice dirt and the Comb and vowel filters are really nice. The vowel filter could sound like a vocoder without actually acting like a vocoder.

The most important and interesting feature is the use of the Arp/sequencer as a modulation source. Most of the OS4 demo patches included in the new update show this. The use for the modulation of the wavetable scan gives results which remind me of the wavesequencing of the Korg Wavestation !!

Why i don't guess Lotuzias Soundbank not right? Because it sounds very smooth and warm, specially with the chorus-usages i was convinced, that it is d-cam synthsquad - i also can mislead me

I also think, Lotuzia had did with his Massive soundbank an outstanding job. I had heared till yet no soundbank for massive which sounding so nice smooth!

And yes, now at the end, i must agree you, it was a little bit to difficult. Based on the demo it was sure that it a va-synth with wavetables and very good drives, so usually i thinked, that the most will only say something like virus or blofeld. Rob guess it right, because he hear out the filter and the drive-curves. And i am really suprised that no less people guess it right - no next time will be easier with more hints. It was not planed, that this guess-the-synth-topic will be so hard. But also i must say, if would be boring if i would take a smooth analog sounding synth and would making only smooth analog sounds into the mp3. That wouldn't match with my philosophy as sounddesigner

I always try to show all sound-facettes of a synth - that contains a good soundddesign-work. And if such challange would be so easy that after 1 day 10 guys have the right answer - would be lame

So heads up, next time it will be a little bit easier with more hints
