BERFAB wrote:I just wanted to chime in here and let HG know what a great instrument this is. I gave it a bit of a workout last night. The layout takes a bit of getting used to, and the UI is a bit, well, LARGE (for my screen at least), but man, what a great concept. I love spicing up rhythm tracks with different complimentary beats, and PM really gets this right.

The presets are all useful and are also great starting points for experimentation. My favorite is the India-flavored Tabla. With various FX treatments, I actually already threw these into a couple of tracks I'm working on.

And for anyone who has not yet checked this out, I think a few will agree with me that, IMHO, PM is a better beat resource than another recently introduced, low cost drum synth from a major DAW dev.

Very nice, HG.

Thanks :D

Hi. A couple of pages back bobsled mentioned my involvement in preset making,so yes I am working on some presets at the moment but it will take a while before I'm done. If anyone or ones would like to collaborate on a full 128 preset bank please PM me and we'll take it from there. I also noticed an odd thing with the decay button. In default The knob is all the way right but when it's brought down a notch the whole sound of that track changes,(so I
'm not touching that). This could be the problem that debby was talking about. And earlier debby said something about not needing a decay button. However an Attack button would be a helpful addition. I'm not always online thru the week but the weekends are good.LK

the behaviour of the Decay knob in this way is more than obvious as it simply shortens the time the step will sound at all and esp. with drums it does lead to a change in sound as parts of the sound simply are cut off or faded out. the more the knob is to left the faster it will be faded out. something similar would be the case with an Attack knob which will cut off more and more of the actual attack if turned to right which is something not really that useful for plain drums & percussion as the kick won't kick anymore :hihi:

But I don't always want the kik to kik.

now think about it a little ...
for the next things related to PercuMat 2 I'm not going to rework the GUI which would be required when adding a further knob to the instrument slots.
In most cases it is far more simple to use right from start a more suited sound/wave featuring less prominent attack.
In about a month I'll be able to roughly double the quantity of inbuilt sounds as I made a deal with somebody who still has got a substantial amount high quality samples in stock.

In short I'll be looking into that MIDI trigger issue to solve this as muting tracks via keyboard too is more essential.

and just to make it clear from the economic point of view: in terms of amount of donations up to now I should not work on this at all rather than on something else I've in mind already. I'll have to organize my time on projects quite deliberately.

Hiya. Well still no PM's for collaborated banks. I have got about 77 contenders at the moment but it would be nice to be able to make a bank with others. Any synth even. So I probable will have this finished in about a weeks time. Okay bye.LK

Very sad to hear no one is joining in :-( Probably you should charge a few bucks for the full preset bank then ;-)

Hopefully I can put MIDI key trigger back soon and even muting/unmuting of the tracks via resp. MIDI keys on next octave of keyboard.

Thanks for putting this one up which is fine as I did put up a small update of Percumat 2:
- MIDI Key trigger is in again (to be used Stop mode)
- MIDI Key Part/Slot Mute / UnMute via resp. keys of next octave
- internal Patch selector is now as more convenient popup

have fun

Outstanding!

Thank you for your efforts, I do very much appreciate it. Sorry if you felt there was a little "arm twisting".

And just in time for an updated Percumat, how cool is that?

Post

Thanks so much bobsled. No I didn't feel any arm twisting, I completely enjoyed makeing this bank especially once I got to know the Percumat2 better. So HG got any hints on what's next with this or whatcha doing?LK bye
