Rhino's memory demands - at least what I've seen - easily lay within 32-bit memory range (it's not Kontakt/Sampletank/etc).

A 64-bit host that can't handle 32-bit plugins would seem to me to be dead out-of-the-gate, so my take is "eventually when 64-bit becomes the norm" but not for now.

I'm currently setting up my first serious Windows laptop for music. Windows 7 64 bit, quad processor, dual HD's, etc... I want all the speed and efficiency I can get, and if Rhino being 64 bit helps just a bit, I want it. 8)
All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

It's not (yet) "needed", but these times it's nice to have a choice for 64-bit versions around. Most developers seem to enter 64-bit lately (u-he, Sugar Bytes etc.) as are a lot of users after the introduction of Windows 7 (me included). Technology (slowly) moves on :)
