How much ram?
What happens if it gets loaded with Wusik which has disk streaming?
I would say 4gb for the SFZ player and as wuzik supports disk streaming for SFZ, then 512Mb should be enough (but maybe not for your system), i mean ram is not a limitation here.

@ P.T: I know sfz has disk streaming, but not for SFZ files... only for sf2 (soundfonts), it's a shame, i know...

Are the transitions between velocity layers (only 4, really?!) as smooth as they seem in the demos?

How does it sit in a mix, primarily pop, rock or R&B productions?

I ask not out of spite, malice or anything synonymous...I'd like feedback from people who use it because if it's all it appears to be, I will have to further feed my sampled piano addiction and purchase a copy. :hyper:

And...

Does their website accept PayPal? (Would assume so, but you know what they say about assumption...)

Thanks,
Jerod
Well i cannot answer the first question as i'm obviously convinced by the smooth transitions. All that i can say is that we use adapted filters to smooth the transitions between the velocity layers.
As to the mixes, well.. I really like it and use it in productions, but i don't know if you will like it :)

About paypal, of course! Good assumption!

Fair enough. I'm thinking I'm going to go ahead and add it to my collection soon. Looking forward to it. :)

First, my apologies to anyone potentially annoyed by my digging this thread up...yet again...

thysm00,

Purchased the d/l of Academic Grand this morning -and I'm quite pleased. :D

I'm really surprised it's only four velocity layers up/down. The transitions truly are near seamless and the playability is quite good, especially in a pop/rock track. (Had to adjust the sensitivity to compensate for my "controller" and to adapt AG to my "School of Ian Hunter Piano Playing" style...that's not a slam, I *like* Ian Hunter.)

Something I really like about AG is that the release resonances are quite accurate in that the notes on a real piano will sustain for a moment when you let up on the keys. This is something you guys totally nailed. :tu:

The "thumps" (I find the default value just right) add a nice sense of realism to the sound.

Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for this. I can already tell it's going to see some extensive use here.

Regards,
Jerod
